Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThat we didn’t stay longer!!
Location was wonderful- inside the Medina but outside the craziness of the tourist crowds. Othman, the host, was amazing and kind and welcoming. The directions from the Bab were excellent. Beds were great and so was breakfast.

United KingdomGive yourself plenty of time if you want to get a taxi from the gate nearest the accommodation. I had to make a quick dash for another gate with luggage, traversing the many steps and narrow uneven alleyways.
I had a really nice stay here and Otman was very helpful. The views from the rooftop while having breakfast were lovely. The breakfast was lovely, the soft cheese, mint tea and olive oil were delicious. The facilities are basic but are fine for a short stay. The location may not be ideal for families with young children.

United StatesBeautiful family hosting this lovely riad. They are so kind and hospitable. The mother, Fatima would drop off a traditional breakfast every morning. The house is spotless and has amazing views of the mountains and medina. I told my family to book this riad when they visit Chefchaoun.

MoroccoAll good
This has a guesthouse feel, just a tiny good home with few rooms, with Fatima mother of Othman, is really nice and friendly running the place and preparing good breakfasts for you and asking if you need anything. Othman, a good person who offers tips and helps you understand the city map better, thank you for such amazing stay, I`ll come back for sure

CanadaThere was nothing I didn't like, everything was perfect. It is important to know though, that the city is high up in the mountains - it is made up of cobblestone alleys/ streets, and has A LOT of stairs. Dar Onsar is in one of the higher up areas of the city so this important to be aware of. You need good knees to go up and down multiple times a day! Also, if possible, it is in your best interest to travel as light as possible and preferably with a backpack rather than a rolling suitcase as you will need to get your bags up and back down upon arrival and departure! Otman is gracious and willing to help with your luggage if necessary.
This is a really sweet and charming little house, tucked away from the main square and business of the tourist area. It is tranquil and relaxing here. There is a beautiful rooftop terrace with excellent views where you can take your breakfast or just relax. It is an authentic Chefchaouen home so you can really have the local experience. Otman, the gentleman in charge is friendly, helpful, and sincere - he can help you with any request. His wonderful mother prepares a really lovely breakfast each morning. You really feel like you are a guest of this family when you stay here. Great washroom, shower, and hot water. Comfy and unique room. Great location if you like quiet and to escape the busyness of the main touristed area. It is within easy walking distance of many cafés and restaurants with very fair prices. This property also has easy access to the trail leading to the Spanish mosque where you can watch a beautiful sunset. I would definitely return to Dar Onsar and will be sure to recommend to any who will visit Chefchaouen 💙

Czech RepublicI enjoyed my staying in Dar Onsar a lot! The house is very nice and staff is very kind, madam Fatima took care about me like my mum, she served very delicious and huge breakfast. Room was comfortable and everything was clean. In winter time I appreciated especially hot water and heater in the room (however heater has special timer.. after few minutes it stopped heat so I had to turn on it again and again). The house is located close to the main street in medina, it was easy to find it thanks to detailed instructions I got befor my arrival.

New ZealandNothing, everything was great!
The hotel was perfect for my needs, and ended up staying an extra night. The location is high up at the top of the medina, so a bit of a walk up and fown, but good to work off some the generous complementary breakfast each morning. It's quiet and very clean. The room was good size with ample light and ventilation. The rooftop is great to chill. Ottoman and his mother were very friendly and helpful.
