How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThis property can only be described as a magical, romantic and beautiful Riad nestled in the mountain of Chefchaouen. From the moment you step through the gorgeous door you become mesmerized by the stunning settings. The welcome was warm and the accommodations were perfect for our family of 8. The breakfast, lunch and dinner were all delicious. I cannot recommend this property enough. It will always have a piece of my heart.
Wish the pool was heated as it was very cold. My kids went into but far too cold for me.

Not much, we loved it and would go back again in a heartbeat and have already recommended it to others. Most staff was really good and welcoming with a small exception regarding the female employee at the front desk who seemed a bit distracted as she was on her phone while I was trying to get her attention to help with something

I know we're in Morocco and rules.are different but having people fully dressed swimming in the pool didn't look very hygienic. The rugs in the rooms were filthy looking and should definitely be replaced. Food was not at the level of the hotel. Better go out and have good, tasty local food.

Verified reviewThis Riad makes you feel special and important when you get there and check in. But when you leave the hotel, you don't feel so special and important anymore. This is the conclusion we made from our situation, which left a not very pleasant impression. Before leaving the hotel we asked for Morrocan tea, we had to wait and remind the reception that the tea had not been brought yet. Next to us in the reception area sat other guests who had just arrived. All guests were welcomed with Morrocan tea and Morrocan delights. These guests sitting next to us were brought tea. And we were still waiting ... Soon our tea was brought. And a check was presented for payment. ( 20 dirhams) My husband gave 100 dirhams to that guy, and said to keep the change. After we finished the tea, We thanked the receptionist girl for loveley accommodation. To which she said that we needed to pay for the tea. We said that we had paid. She ran to ask her colleagues until that guy confirmed that we had paid and everything was fine. We left this beautiful hotel with such an unpleasant aftertaste.. But in overall Everything was Perfect ! Amazing place to stay! Like a beautiful Oasis !

Upon your arrival, you were served Moroccan tea, traditional sweets and cold bottle of water, as part of our complimentary welcome service. The tea you requested later was after checkout and as clearly stated, any service after checkout is not complimentary. The charge was minimal and clearly communicated. The misunderstanding around the payment was immediately clarified by our staff. It is unfortunate that some guests seem determined to leave a bad review no matter how much effort is made to please them. We wish you well in your future experiences

Verified reviewOur stay at this riad was truly something special. The room was beautifully appointed and felt authentically Moroccan, just like the incredible menu that gave us a true taste of local cuisine. We especially loved the generous breakfast spread, filled with lots of classic Moroccan varieties to try. The staff were all very friendly and incredibly accommodating. The serene pool was the perfect escape from the summer heat, made even better by the poolside service—a lovely bonus to our stay!

Verified reviewThis is a beautiful hotel with gorgeous views of Chefchaouen. Lovely relaxed pool, great breakfast and wonderful food in the restaurant.
As there isn’t a car park, when we arrived there were lots of people approaching us about parking which felt a bit intimidating. It would have been great if the hotel could have communicated in advance about this because once we went into the hotel they sent a lovely chap down to help with our bags and help us find the best place to park. Only a minor thing to improve experience for future guests.

Verified reviewIt’s such a beautiful hotel. So calm and relaxing. The breakfasts are amazing and the staff are so helpful. Our hire car had a mechanical problem and Kareem spoke to the company and arranged for it to be sorted out.
Only downside is that WiFi wasn’t great but it was a positive for us as it meant more time together as a family

Difficult parking situation. Must park in unaffiliated parking lots and one of the attendants assaulted my husband over fares. On a smaller note, the pillows are too big and hard to sleep on.
