How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis was an immensely beautiful place and the swimming pool and loungers- icing on the cake. loved our Berber room. The manager Redouane was fantastic, so helpful and Ayou also was a superstar. The breakfast was gorgeous which is why we wanted to stay for dinner. The place is so clean. Redouane and Ayou keep on top of all the outside areas and the cleaning girl does a great job of cleaning the rooms. The location is exquisite so near the beautiful falls. Good to have parking directly outside.
As mentioned we wanted to stay for dinner but we were told the chef was asleep and unable to cook that night despite us arranging it in good time according to the hotel. Then the chef contacted us to say he would cook but then the hotel staff told us when we went to go to the restaurant that it was still not possible to eat at the hotel. So we had to go out and we were really lucky to find an amazing place called Bab Echallal.

Verified reviewGreat place surrounded by beautiful nature! I recommend to take the dinners because they are delicious. The place is very close to the waterfalls. We regret that we did not plan to stay for more than one night, because in such a place it is worth, if you really want to do a peaceful route around the waterfalls, cave, or evening walk around the area, to use the pool. During our visit we had the opportunity to talk to a very nice and helpful employee, who told us many interesting facts about the area and advised us to go to the Mexican village, which we saw in the distance during the walk, and it was a very good idea!

Verified reviewThis was by far our favourite stay, we feel everything on this holiday was 10/10, this would get an 11 out of 10! The staff were amazing from the minute we checked in, he was so accommodating to us! Anything we asked he answered without hesitation and assisted us as much as he could, even with our journey to Rabat! It was super close to the amazing waterfall hike, less than 5 minutes and you are heading to the famous falls! We will definitely be back!

Verified reviewAmazing location on walking distance to the waterfall. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and more than willing to provide tips and backgroun information on Ouzoud and all the activities. The swimming pool is a nice addition to the accomodation to relax after hiking to the falls. Highly recommend to visit the falls around 9 AM before all the tour buses arrive to enjoy the serenity and beauty of the falls. Be mindfull of the monkeys there as the young ones tend to jump on to you ;). We had dinner twice in the hotel and was also very nice with a view on the mountains. Highly recommend going here!

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed our stay at Dar Aya. The location is perfect to visit the Ouzoud waterfalls. Dar Aya has great rooms, a swimming pool with an amazing view and the breakfast and diner were delicious. The owner and the staff are very kind. Special thanks to Redouane for welcoming us so well and showing us the region of the waterfalls. You are a wonderful person and this is a beautiful moment that we definitely remember from our holiday. We are definitely thinking of coming back.

Verified reviewThe accommodation is just a few minutes' walk from the waterfall. It is located in a beautiful setting, with a stunning view of the valley and the mountains. The building is lovely, and the rooms are clean and tastefully furnished. You can also admire the surrounding mountains from the pool. The host is very helpful and incredibly kind. We only spent one night here, but we already regret planning it that way — we would have gladly stayed longer.

Verified reviewI had a great stay at this hotel! It has a beautiful Moroccan style. The rooms are charming and very clean, making our stay even more comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming—they even accommodated us late at night after we had car troubles. Close to Ouzoud waterfall. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay!

Verified reviewWe booked last minute on a whim and did not expect much. This place surprised us. The room was excellent, double bed very comfy. Breakfast was the most elaborate and tasty we had in Morocco, especially considering the fair price of the stay. But the best of all is the little garden and pool area which is very relaxing, sunny and cosy. We could not spend much time there unfortunately as we only arrived late and had to leave the next morning, but I think this is a great place to unwind for a few days. And the Ouzoud waterfalls are beautiful! Aya represents great value for money and the owner is helpful and friendly. Recommended!
The bathroom could do with a slight upgrade. The toilet and shower are basic, although the water pressure in the shower is good and warm water abundant. Other than that, perfect!
