How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewSyad was very welcoming, the dinners and breakfasts were great and it was close to gorgeous hiking. Although the house is very old and rustic, it was charming and very clean.
It was very hard to find and the signage isn't good. Our bedrooms were quite cold with only propane heaters brought in to warm the room but then turned off before sleep.

Verified reviewVery beautiful, traditional house, super friendly hosts and lovely food. There is clearly a great deal to do here for those who like walking in the mountains!
The room was a bit cold at night - but it was the middle of winter...

Verified reviewIt’s in an amazing walking area for starters. Also I liked that it was off the beaten path. You really feel like you are in real Morocco. Not like Marrakech that is catering a lot towards tourists. The room was very comfortable. It was a bit cold, but that is due to the fact it’s November. And you are higher up (2100 meters). We brought the proper clothing, so no issue for us. Breakfast was amazing. It was also no problem to make dinner for us too. Also very delicious. They took really good care of us. Language was a bit of a barrier but we figured it out.
In the beginning we were a bit clueless and confused due to language barrier. Having downloaded the Google translate app with Arabic was a life saver. Our French is too limited.

Verified reviewThe accommodation is absolutely charming, rooms are spacious, lovely comfortable furnishings, in the bedrooms and other common areas, with stunning local rugs on the floors. Views of the valley are beautiful and peaceful. Meals were exceptional and the hosts could not have been more accommodating. It is a real gem.

Verified reviewRemote location with a beautiful view over the village and the valley. Great host providing delicious Tajine diner and friendly talk. Room is spacious, very comfortable big bed in a quite simple room. It is not a negative opinion just the fact. The guesthouse is big and roomy, and at that time we were the only guests. Total silence during the night and it is hilarious that the rooster only dares to crow after the Muezzin wakes the Walley up. The very nice Berber host awaited us, escorted to the house and offered us a delicious Mint tea (20 drh) on the roof terrasse upon arrival and was always helpful and very kind with us.
Breakfast was ok, but nothing special.

Verified reviewVery well located at the very end of the valley Good start point to go to lac Izoughar and many other destinations as Taghia, Azurki. A very nice walk is simply to explore the valley from the house, and to make a loop towards the circus, through "gardens ", along fields, seguias and through 2-3 villages. Very nice, big and comfortable room Very nice terrasse Very nice host ( Saìd and his wife) Very good breakfast and diner (different soups, tagine, couscous,...) . Possibility of picnic for lunch time. cirvmcus via sequins, garden paths

Verified reviewSuperb view from the terrace over the green fields high in the Atlas mountains. As it looked like rain the owner kindly allowed us to put our motorbikes inside the garage which was much appreciated. We enjoyed walking through the village and seeing rural village life.

Verified reviewWe had problems at the road but Ahmed waited for the dinner. Very appreciated.
I think I was poisoned by a fruit salad. I think so because it was the only food that I ate and my friends don't. Nevertheless, it's hard to know.

Unfortunately, the host can speak just French, English at all. It's not very easy to find the location.

Verified reviewWe loved staying at the dar ait bouguemez. Rooms are decorated in a traditional way, ours was wonderful, on the ground floor, with the cosiest bathroom we've seen during our one week trip across Morocco. It was a bit chilly in the January so we asked for the gas heater and it was easy to heat the space in 30min. Thanks to that we slept like babies under a thick duvet and blankets. The place is spotlessly clean, the water under the shower was warm and available with good pressure. The best thing was the delicious breakfast and an ever better dinner consisting of a soup, tajine, mint tee and fruit dessert which we ordered for the both evenings we were staying. Homemade and delicious! This house is located in a completely remote village with no WiFi and no phone connection so be prepared for that. We loved that fact almost as much as the hospitality of the owner and his wife! At the end of our stay we bought two lovely wool carpets at a great price. Thank you so much for the stay.

Verified reviewNicely designed large room with view onto snow-capped mountain. Wonderful crisp linens on comfortable bed. Attentive hosts - despite the lack of a common language- who made a very good kefta tagine dinner and made a fire in the impressive fireplace. Great price, wish I could have stayed longer.
No Wi-Fi or cell service in the valley. That isn’t the fault of the property - just a heads-up in case you want to alert loved ones you’ll be out of range during your stay.
