How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHe makes a cooked breakfast every day. We stayed two nights and he made a different breakfast each morning. The room was clean, comfortable and stylish, and we got a welcome mint tea with Moroccan sweets.

Verified reviewAissam is a person passionate about hospitality. He is an owner of the property and he manages apartment by himself. Room, bathroom are just perfect, breakfast is the best I’ve ever had, carefully cooked&served by Aissam. Location is just beside the old town, taxi/car can stop near it and there are no stairs, rooms are conveniently located on the ground floor. Highly recommended.
The only thing that might be added is an AC, but we were ok to sleep without it as weather in Tanger is not too hot even in August

Verified reviewIt was perfect in every way. We only stayed the one night and Aissam was the perfect host. We were offered local pastries and tea on arrival with simple but delicious breakfast in the morning. The room was faultless, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Modern but with touches of Morocco making it a lovely stay.
Nothing.

Verified reviewThe property is very beautiful. The room is tastefully decorated, the bathroom is very modern and comfortable and Aissam is a wonderful host. Breakfast was the main highlight staying here! There was so much care put into our breakfasts and they were so good we couldn’t believe they were included with our stay. The room itself is a bit warm in the summer but Aissam provided a fan for us which was perfect! Location was also a perfect walking distance to all of the tourist attractions and the sea. Would recommend staying here to anyone visiting Tanger.

Verified reviewAissam worked in a hotel for 15 years before operating this guesthouse and the service is like a fancy hotel. His breakfasts are incredible and he kindly made vegan breakfasts for us each morning. The tiling inside the home is beautiful and everything is clean. Communication was easy. The location is great, about a minute away from the medina entrance. Good internet.

Verified reviewThe owner M.Aissam arranged a taxi from the airport and was waiting for me upon arrival with a handshake and a friendly welcome. He even setup my phone on the wifi which is above and beyond great service. The room I stayed in was on the ground floor which is helpful as I don't do stairs very well. Room itself was spotless the bed very large and comfortable with freshly laundered linen. The bathroom is one of the best I have seen beautifully tiled with plenty of free toiletries and soaps, shampoo etc. Breakfast was very good as well set me up for the day. 10/10 and congratulations to M.Assaim for such a beautifully presented property in the heart of town.
Nothing I don't like

Verified reviewChez Aissam consists of two guest rooms and the hosts room on the ground floor of an elegant building. The host and the guests share the kitchen and the bathroom. There is also a small room used to serve breakfast which could also serve as a study. The decor is stunning and very elegant. The place is meticulously clean. The host, Aissam is soft-spoken and super attentive. He offered to put my clothes through the wash when I arrived and I then hung them on a clothesline in the front garden. He informed me of a ride-share app that many use in lieu of taxis (InDrive) thus making pricing more transparent. Breakfast was generous in quality and quantity and included lots of coffee and milk. He connected with me on both WhatsApp and by local phone ensuring that I had the exact location.
The house has the road in the front and an alley on the side. My front room had three windows, one on the alley, one on the front and the last on the entrance garden. This made for a great cross-breeze and the windows have both bars and shutters, however a cat tried to visit my room (and not the inside house cat either)! During the day occasional cars will pass by but it doesn't seem to be an issue at night.

Verified reviewOne of the best places I have stayed in, and it helped ensure that Tangier was my favorite stop in Morocco. The location is unbeatable and the staff are simply the loveliest, kindest people. Breakfast (and welcome tea and snacks) were incredible. Anything you needed was organised and at a great price - they even arranged me a round trip taxi to Ceuta the night before and a taxi to the bus station at short notice. Very spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated room, kitchen access and spotlessly clean bathroom. They refused to let me pay for a load of laundry. Thank you for everything!
