Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MoroccoIt was a bit challenging to find late at night in a quiet part of the Medina. Asking people as I went let me to the riad.
The staff was very welcoming despite me arriving at 9:30pm. They offered mint tea upon arrival. Friendly and quick communication for all my questions before arrival.

United KingdomThere's some building work near the Riad but it wasn't noisy and it didn't was any disruption. However, you do have to navigate your way past them to get to the Riad.
Stayed at the Riad Chalymar for 3 nights in early March. It's in an excellent central location for exploring Marrakech. It's situated down some narrow streets and not the easiest place to find but felt very safe even when returning late at night. The were staff very helpful and attentive and breakfasts were lovely. My room was clean and tidy and the shower and facilities were good.

IrelandWe stayed in the ground floor bedroom, it did tend to get noisy in the morning very early so maybe just ask for a different room. Some fruit would also be nice with breakfast and maybe fresh juice ! Otherwise we are happy with our stay
The staff were lovely. Sarah and Mohammad cannot be faulted. The riad was in a great location, only a 5 minute walk from the medina. The place was very clean.

United KingdomThe room did not have a towel in the bathroom on the first morning. This was quickly rectified by the staff.
The breakfast were lovely and the staff were all very helpful whenever we required something. The Riad is also very well located as it is closed to all places of interest within the Old Town.

United KingdomThe Riad is through a labyrinth of lanes before you reach the door. There is building work repairing the hospital I think which is at the start of the labyrinth which is very messy & doesn’t give a good impression on arrival.
The property was a typical Riad which we’d chosen to stay so we had an authentic experience in Marrakesh. Sarah & the staff were very friendly & couldn’t do enough for us. The bed was comfortable & shower hot. It’s convenient for the square & close to the oldest Mosque so quite central.

United KingdomMy issue might be specific to the room I had but the room on the ground floor which is not noise proofed. This might be uncomfortable for yourself or others if like me you snore :)
It’s a traditional riad that is well maintained and kept clean. Location is very convenient if you are looking to explore the Medina, Mosque or the Jamaa Al Fnna areas. The breakfast is delicious. All the staff are extremely welcoming & friendly. Both, Sarah and Mohammed were available to help make recommendations or support in any way to make your stay comfortable. The staff were exceptional and I would highly recommend the place.

PortugalWe want stay more days but we need work in Portugal.
An incredible, surprising experience. The street to the riad seems difficult but it's kind of Marrakesh, very close to Jemana Alfena, 5 minute walk. The breakfast was very welcoming and varied, they even arranged for us to be there 1 day earlier because we were going on a tour. Sara and Moahmed are kind and wonderful people, they gave us information, we shared tips, experiences and we made friends. Very kind, I love this people. Wonderful people. We loved it and we will repeat our experience at this riad. I recommend .

NorwayReally hard to get the right temperature in the shower. Also missing some fruit in the breakfast. Besides that we have no complains!
We had a great stay at this beautiful riad. It had a private rooftop and nice, clean rooms ❤️ Really friendly staff that helped us out with everything we needed and even offered to show us the way to the bank etc. Really great location! It was close to the big square but also nice and quiet. Staying in a riad feels much more personal than in a hotel.

New ZealandNothing against the property, they were amazing to sort this all for us, but the tour company we booked through them to go to the merzouga desert wasn’t the best. Would recommend looking through reviews with other tour companies before booking through the Riad.

MoroccoThe shower drain in our room was clogged a bit with some leakage in the tube. Nothing bad but should be fixed.
The location is fantastic, close to Djamaa El Fna and all major attractions. Staff are welcoming and took really good care of us. They decorated our room for my wife's birthday with flowers and served us tea when we arrived. They were also very patient with us as we made a late checkout. Overall, very happy with the stay.

GermanyUnfourtanetly it is very noisy as you can hear every noise even if you are in your room. As soon as the first guests eat breakfast it is impossible to sleep any longer… same for the nights. Our bed was also making lots of noises and it’s unfortunate that there is no bathroom door.
The Hotel is very clean and the breakfast is great. The Hosts were very lovely. Also the location is great.

SwitzerlandHaving now spent two weeks all over Marocco and stayed in 9 different riads, including another one in Marrakesh, I can confidently say that this place is ridiculously overpriced for what it is. It is possible to walk to the centre, but it is not in a nice part of the town, and it is down some pretty dodgy alleys even for Marrakesh. I walked around the whole city by myself but as a female traveller I would be very nervous staying here alone. It manages to both be very remote AND very loud in the evening, as it seems be very close to some kind of nightclub? The place is overall very, very shabby (and definitely not chic). Our room was large enough, but there is only a curtain for a bathroom door, the tub and paint on the walls was peeling, the rug on the floor was so flithy that we couldn't walk on it barefoot, and there were no duvet covers on the divets (perhaps that is only a pet peeve of mine but duvets are not washed between guests and I am not keen in sleeping in other poeple's duvets). The porthole windows were literally coming off the walls. The main common area was very shabby, with bikes, cables, other debris stored around, the common area toilet was gross, the pool seemed pretty grim as well. To be clear, I wouldn't mind it all so much if this place was actually budget-friendly, but we paid 140 a night for it, and as I said, this is ridiculoursly overpriced. If you can get it at a better price in the off season, it may be worth it to save some money, but it is definitely not worth a price like that. For the same price we stayed in much much nicer places all over the country, including in a lovely place in a much better location in Marrakesh. The staff seemed friendly enough, not that they bothered very much with us - only to make sure that we pay the tourist tax before we left. The roof terrace has a nice view, but the loungers are old, dirty and coming apart so it's not really nice to hang out there.
I feel I was mislead by some of the fabulous reviews, so I will try to be as honest as possible. I tried really hard to think about something positive to say, and I honestly couldn't find much. I think the only thing is that the room smelled less damp than some riads we have stayed at. However, this place is outrageously overpriced for what it is, even for Marrakess (see below why), and I would very much not recommend it.

SwedenI was not satisfied with the bedroom because it was cold, and the toilet had no door. The bed was small, and the sheets were never changed, even though the bed was made. The bedding felt like a parachute and was very uncomfortable, with constant rustling from the plastic material that made it hard to sleep. Additionally, the room was old and poorly insulated, which meant that noises from guests going downstairs for breakfast, especially after 8:30 AM, were very loud.
I liked the breakfast and the staff who were very kind.
