Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThere is very little sound proof and the neighbourhood is unfortunately very lively with overly energetic kids. One definitely needs to be aware of this if they are a light sleeper.
Everything was absolutely amazing. The house is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable. The staff are beyond nice and the activities they have are worth checking out.

PolandGreat location, as usual in medinas - you cannot get there by car, but still close to the nearest parking - so no worries 😉 we spent there only one night, the breakfast was really nice, on the terrace. The room was perfect, with beautiful decorations. Casa has it's own character, we liked it. Nicely furnished. The personnel spoke English fluently, gave us some tips about medina and was very helpful when we forgot to take something from there (they send it back to us). Thanks for magical moments in this magical medina!❤️

United KingdomHad an amazing stay at Casa La Hiba. Mourad, our host, and his family were very warm and welcoming. Our stay was very nice and homely and comfortable. The breakfast (on request) was excellent. They also had facilities for other local experiences/activities. The terrace was excellent and a perfect spot to relax with a view to the surrounding Rif Mountains and the Blue city. Room service and everything else was great. They also helped us arrange a private transfer for our onwards journey. Highly recommended!!

United KingdomIt’s the second time I’ve been to Casa La Hiba. It’s just inside the medina. Mourad and staff are very friendly and helpful, especially with booking taxis. It is a bit noisy at night, but that’s the medina for you. The rooms are big and very clean. The breakfast is brilliant and they are some beautiful rooftop views of Chefchaouen and the Spanish Mosque. I’m already looking at another stay.

United KingdomNothing comes to mind. All good and one the best places we stayed in during our 15 days in country. Thanks.
We arrived from Tangier, via a few hours' layover in Tetuan (thinking not to go back again from Chefchaouene); were able to check in immediately. The actually blue city is a bit of climb up from the bus station, but not so difficult (and the way back is all downhill of course). Location is great and the host was very welcoming. Takes a while to orientate and there is plenty to explore, trying to orientate ourselves on the Kasbah. Room was very good, even having a separate sitting area. Breakfast was good. Casa la Hiba has a very nice family-run atmosphere. Overall, the blue city is great, and again, people are very friendly, and for the most part not pushy (but watch out for annoyingly persistent types trying to peddle cannabis).

CanadaWe spent two nights at La Casa Hiba in Chefchaouen and had a truly great stay. The guesthouse is perfectly located, about 2 minutes walking from Bab Souk, making it easy to explore the medina. The breakfast was delicious, and the rooftop terrace offers stunning views of the city—an ideal spot to relax. Morad and his family were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and kind. Overall, a fantastic experience that we definitely recommend. Thank you for everything. Cristian & Alejandra

United KingdomCosy homely place in the centre of the medina, really well located and with parking nearby. The place was very clean, the staff really friendly and they have a wonderful cook upstairs! The lady prepares breakfast every morning and can make fresh food for you with a bit of warning. We loved her bessara soup! Also try the Moroccan biscuits with mint tea. Real delight! Thank you so much for looking after us.

CanadaI couldn’t really say anything. I didn’t like about the property. It’s in a busy market and it’s a little bit of a walk from the taxi if people are elderly, but trust me, the property owners would make it to work anyway.
I cannot say enough about this wonderful property and the friendly people who work and run it. We had the most delicious food that we have ever had with Grandma working in the kitchen. I wish I could have done a cooking course with her, but we left too early. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were soft and it was probably the best sleep I’ve had with very quiet quarters. We had so much help with getting the shopping we needed done at incredible prices. And it just felt like home when we arrived until the moment we left. We were welcomed and felt like we had family helping us all the time. I would definitely recommend staying here.
