How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Only one shower.
Good location. Very compact place with kitchen and bathrooms in the center. Laundry available. Good beds and only 2 people in the room I was staying in. Did a bit of a messup with the keys and staff was immediately available to help via Whatsapp. Especially good place if you just need a place to stay/sleep at.

There are so many rooms in this property but only one toilet and one shower with toilet to be shared with all guests. At peak times, it took ages to get one of these facilities free of people. Our room was next to the toilet and showers. Due to lack of proper insulation, it made very noisy to relax through the night. I suggest the host to creat another toilet and shower to accommodate all the guests in this lovely property. Plus, the owner should write the rules about respecting others and keep the noisy down ( like from 10pm till 7 am ). People were having showers and talking after 11 pm with the doors open and light on.
Great location, clean toilets/showers. Easy connection on foot to city centre, shopping malls, supermarkets and train/ bus station. Spacious room, very clean with a folding table to have your meals.

Clean and nice place. Soundproof room. Nice bathroom. Kitchen enough for a tea, microwave and coffee. He also let me put my bag in a locker for free after my checkout. Thank you.

Doors aren’t soundproof so you can easily hear everyone who’s in the hallway.

You can't flush the toilet paper in the toilets. There are bins provided. I guess that's due to the building structure, but make sure you are comfortable with this solution.
The room was clean, the bed was comfy. Considering there were no other rooms/ tables where you could eat your breakfast, table in the room was slightly small. The coat hanger was very useful. The toilets and shower were clean and tidy. Very close to the bus station and shop. 15 minutes walk to the city center.

Everyone is wearing winter shoes in the rooms, toilets and kitchen. It would be cool to have a rule of leaving shoes at the entrance. Also, it was a bit too noisy. There were two guys who came at around 5AM and were talking in the kitchen. I was able to hear literally every word from their conversation, even though the door of my room was closed. So, the rooms are clearly missing some kind of noise isolation.
Clean and a very warm room :) Easy check-in, easy to find. Perfect spot for several nights.

Had to carry two 30kg trolleys 4 floors up was a big task. There wasn't any elevator/lift. Stairs was smelling awful with no ventilation.
Peaceful stay. Rooms were clean, had a common kitchen to make coffee, microwave. Washing machine helped wash our clothes midway through the trip.

There was only 2 toilets for the entire apartment so sometimes had to wait for one to be available.
Room and facilities were very clean. Location is a short walk from the old town.

The apartment was very clean and the bathroom was well equipped. The room was exactly as pictured and beds were comfortable. Slept very well through out my stay. Host kept me well informed of updates. Bread was provided in the kitchen. The chocolate on the pillow was a nice touch 💜. I really like the fact that there was a separate enclosure space (with door) between the rooms and the main hallway.

The owner provided a very clear instruction on how to access the hostel and felt warm welcome even it is a contact-less check-in. It is not far if you want to walk to the old town of Riga, and the shopping mall is neary by too. It has everything you need for a few night stay.
