How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGood and spacious room. Decent bathroom and kitchen facilities. Nearby (paid) parking across the hotel in an underground facility. Friendly receptionist.
Location is in a part with a lot of streetnoise (people). Hotel can't help it but not recommended with kids that sleep early.

Verified reviewVery easy check in. The location is ideal and very close to a parking garage. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very firm. Unfortunately there was no air conditioner and the room was very hot at night and the outside street noise made it hard to leave the window open. The hotel was very close to the train station and it was easy to train to Rockhal for a concert.
No air conditioning

Verified reviewNice room. Friendly staff. Bathtub was a plus. Few minutes walk from the station.
On the last night, the smoke alarm suddenly went off (malfunctioned) around 2am and kept ringing for hours.

Verified reviewIt is located only five minutes from the Esch train station so very convenient if in town for a concert at the Rockhal especially given the free public transportation in Luxembourg. The room had a nice, big bath tub and the bed was large and comfortable. The breakfast doesn’t have many cooked options but it’s a nice buffet nonetheless. Good value for money.

Verified reviewGood hotel in central location. Parking is in public parking close by but only €8. Room was a suite, everything great, would be 10 all round if they had hot food at breakfast (only option was self boiled egg) but cold selection was good. Staff great and very friendly.
Would like bacon and sausage option at breakfast

Verified reviewVegan buffet at breakfast which i think was laid on especially to cater to the annual International Animal Rights Conference attendees staying like myself and my companions; Friendly and professional staff; Clean and comfortable rooms; Central location; and Good value for money.
There was an unseasonal heatwave for mid-Sept, and at night because the room I stayed in had no air-conditioning (i don't think any rooms do) the options were open the window to let some of the heat out and be kept awake by the noisy late night revellers into the small hours of the morning, or close the window and bake in the heat of the bedroom.

Verified reviewThe hotel is easy to find because it is only a few hundred meters from the city's train station. I arrived late and the reception was no longer working, but I still got into the room using the intercom and the night bell. The room is on the third floor and has a view of the street and the neighboring building across the street. So the view isn't really anything special unless you like buildings from the last century. The room seems to have been recently renovated and everything looks fine with no damage. The bathroom as well. There is a really small TV in the room (with about fifty channels in French, German, Italian and English). There is also a coffee machine and microwave, coffee cups, glasses, plates and cutlery. In the bathroom are the usual accessories and towels. Same very neat. The shower has a little less pressure, but still works well. The bed is, I think, queen size, and maybe a little too soft (but that's a matter of personal taste). Breakfast is good - the usual hotel buffet (no fried food). The coffee from the machine is very good. The service doesn't seem to speak any languages other than French.
Although it is not a direct matter of the hotel, during the weekend, guests come late at night and bang on neighboring rooms, talk loudly, and there were a couple of inarticulate screams. There is no smoke detector in the room and it is used by smokers. They seem to be smoking in their rooms and the smoke is coming through the hallway into the room under the front door (my window was closed so I'm sure of that).

Verified reviewThe staff was great and responded quickly and warmly to all my requests. The breakfast was amazing. Imagine yoghurt with nuts and fresh berries everyday. The hotel is not far from the train station and it's a stone's throw away from the big shopping street.
I visited when it was warm in June and the room got warm even when I put the shutters down during the day for shade. I am sensitive to the heat so I had to sleep with the windows open to cool the room, and earplugs on to muffle the occasional sounds from the street.
