How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The swimming pool is intended for families and kids, but during our stay some guests were using it as if for training or competition. They complained that my child was playing and disturbing them. It would be helpful if the property made it clear that the pool is primarily for leisure, especially when families with children are present.

Verified reviewThe shower alternated between cold and burning my skin. A bad smell came from the drains, and you can very clearly hear other people in their bathrooms. The "double" bed was two twins with separate single sheets. Nothing within walking distance.

There were some really helpful and friendly staff, but also some real miserable ones too! The set menu was very basic, stayed for 4 days and more or less had the same food! Breakfast could have had more hot choice for veggies. Very very limited gym equipment, needs much more range

We were not given information breakfast when we checked in. Last day we asked reception to add breakfast to our bill. Paid 44 euros and got there and it was closing. It was 9.58am. We had to grab something quick as it was all being put away. Breakfast was not good value.

Verified reviewStaff is very friendly, the hotel is set in greenery, it's quiet. The indoor pool and sauna area are really lovely. There are machines in the hotel to pick up softdrinks etc. from. In theory the outdoor pool area is nice - at least it is spacious. If they would provide more sun beds or outdoor furniture (of which we have seen excellent examples at hotel Cocoon, a hotel in the area), this would really be an upgrade.
The outdoor pool should really be heated. We were quite disappointed that it wasn't...... and so were other guests. No pool towels provided and the number of sun beds was way too low. We picked this hotel specifically because of the location and the pools. The other thing we were not impressed with, is the breakfast. It was pretty basic and every day was exactly the same. No egg station, no fresh juices and coffee from a machine with milk from powder. Fortunately the friendly staff helped out by heating up milk for my coffee (and they did so with a smile) but for a four star hotel the coffee machine was really not up to par. And they are super strict about breakfast times - it's until 10 am but really they start clearing everything away way before that, it's almost a bit comical. It's more a hotel for big groups and conferences that are only there for one or two days. Next time we would pick something with a bit more character. The public transport to and from the hotel is free but really not very frequent at all, so we ended up renting a car right away to explore. One evening we were swimming in the indoor pool, but were sent out because it closes at 9 pm sharp. The outdoor pool closes at 9.30 pm, so that is confusing. The indoor pool is not staffed, but at 9 pm the lights are turned off and someone comes in to send you out. It did not matter that there were still people swimming and in the sauna.... All in all an okay base for our trips and hikes but don't expect too much :-)

Very thin towels, should have been replaced years ago. Nowhere but the floor to put your own shampoo, shower gel etc in the shower. Intermittent drain smells in the bathroom. Aircon at the ‘coldest’ setting was still keeping the room at around 20/21 degrees, a bit too warm for sleeping. Lack of secure wifi. Restaurant staff ‘efficient’ to the point of being rude. Both evenings I ate in the restaurant, on both occasions my plate was whisked away while I was still chewing the last mouthful, I wasn’t asked once if I needed anything else, and the wait staff practically ran from my table, so short of shouting after them that I would like mayonnaise, I was left wanting. Also I wasn’t offered desert or coffee after my main course on either occasion, and had to ask a passing waiter for a second drink. On my first evening the very friendly, and seemingly knowledgeable, guy on the front desk told me where I could get the bus into town the following morning, and what time, as I had booked a tour. Unfortunately it turned out to be a public holiday and the buses were running a reduced service and not at their usual times either. I found this out from a more knowledgeable young lady at the bus stop. I ended up driving into town to join my tour in time, luckily on street parking was free and readily available because of the holiday. So overall my stay fell short of my expectations.
