How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe SPA services are outstanding, the hotel features modern furnishings, and the overall ambiance is pleasant. The location is ideal, with free parking available and proximity to the river.
The breakfast is delicious but served a bit slowly. During our stay, the hotel was fully booked, resulting in long coffee queues. Adding another coffee machine for breakfast would greatly improve the experience.

Verified reviewAmazing location, very friendly staff ant the restaurant and very good menu, food is delicious. Hotel offers free bicycles which a huge benefit.
The room was not cozy. City Birstonas is usually chosen for leisure, and while resting you would enjoy having a cozy room, even if it small. While booking, provided pictures of the room do not reflect the rooms that are actually offered, for example there was no resting area (armchair with a table) as shown in pictures. Also, only one proper sauna out of 3 in the SPA area, others were simply lacking heat.

Verified reviewFast check-in; The pool and sauna area didn't seemed too busy in the middle of the week, so it was relaxing (wouldn't offer going on weekends because I could see how small size of pool and sauna area might become an issue with more people around). The website states You have to book specific hours to go, but they didn't had any on the day of arrival, so I could have went as many times without restrictions as I wanted (only restriction is working hours and honestly closing at 9 pm seems way to early). The best thing about it was hotel location - forest around it. Beautiful nature in the summer and very close to river Nemunas. Close to other facilities like massage centers, Eglės sanatorium; main town super market is around 5 mins of walking with good infrastructure. Kinda beautiful/interesting rooms, but could clean a bit more around windows. They sell an image on a nice view from windows, but some areas are very dirty around windows/blinds. With bugs in forest and so on should schedule more frequent cleaning. Especially bathroom, either there's mold or dirt, didn't want to check. :) No keys. I found that really comfortable. Room and main hotel doors (it get's locked after 22:00), opens up with generated code that You get on your arrival. Don't have to worry and carry random card keys.
Chaotic breakfast. Last morning didn't ate. No fruit, vegetables (few fruit/yogurt combo deserts, no raw fruit), no buns cheese/meat for a sandwich. No napkins, salt on a tables, no sugar anywhere, have to ask in bar. Very poor option to choose from hot meals, asked for eggs and rather than solving situation heard more of ''Where did you see eggs; show me where it was''. Asked for 3 additional pillows, got one. Staff's too relaxed; goes to smoke with uniforms, cigarettes in mouths. Communication issues. DND sign ignored. No rubber mats in bathroom. No slippers in the room even having SPA center. Hotel's idea ''Write Your own essay".Where's table to do it? No staff in pool, kids diving. There's area with metal bars under, someone gonna get hurt. Hotels music still on around 11 pm (found staff still at work, asked to turn off ''birds''. ''Were? Outside?" Very funny. Loud staff outside restaurant +-11 pm. Cardboard walls. AC blows directly at You in bed when sleeping. No emergency contact from 10 pm. They say ''Have questions? Ask before 10 pm'' it's NOT A JOKE. On arrival I informed that my (let's call it AC), didn't worked properly. It worked with windows open. When it had to work, it didn't. Asked first day, second day "Oh we didn't had a cooling system ON for You''. OK. Last night, from around 11 pm it started making loud noises through the whole room. It was OFF. I didn't slept through the whole night. If kid gonna throw up in a bed at night, he's gonna sleep in puke? Or water pipe leaks? No apology. "We warned that we work till 10". Turned around to leave "we regret that this happened to you". Right. Me too. Chery on top, asked to pay when I already payed.

Verified reviewLoved food, and especially breakfast concept.
Everything seems clean and great, staff is friendly, but I don’t like soap bars in the rooms. It’s like you clean your hands a few times, and the soap is thrown away. Plus, I was missing a hair conditioner.

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed the hotel location and how quite it was. It is a family hotel, I think couples were a bit confused in spa area with so many kids splashing around. They had a very nice playroom for kids too. Pool area was small, but it was enough for a 3 year old. Breakfast was nice and tasty and hot meals to order. We as well had dinner and lunch there. All was tasty.

Verified reviewWe love the location of the hotel, right in the middle of a forest with plenty of options for walking. Good restaurant, very friendly staff and a nice spa. As a family we also appreciated the playroom for little kids, hotel also offers babysitting for children above 2. Comfortable and spacious room.
