Amazing view, amazing swimming pool! Kind staff. Great food. Prices are correct.

You can reach the lodge by a transfer provided by the hostel. The car is not waterproof so, when it rains, you and your luggage will get wet. It’s a funny experience but maybe it could be improved…

We had a perfect stay! The room was very clean and cozy. The pool was just perfect after a long hike in the rainforest. The staff also organized our rainforest tour, which was such a nice experience. Good food and you can watch monkeys right from the terrace. I really can recommend to stay at this hotel and also wandering around the beautiful surrounding area.

    Nothing!

If you want to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the street and visit the rainforest the location is wonderful , you live right next to the entrance to the forest , it is quiet and peaceful , for this price the pool and breakfast was a pleasant surprise:) The guide is also wonderful I have very fond memories of staying there overnight

The location is good, right next to where the walking tours to Sinharaja rainforest start. The private superior rooms were very nice, well equipped and very clean. The mattresses were very soft, not much hot water in the shower. The garden and pool were great. Food was delicious but communication with restaurant staff was a bit complicated. It was not very clear when the restaurant is open and when you can order or not,we received different information from different staff members, resulting in having to wait for food for over an hour and one staff member getting upset because we didn't want to order the buffet. Besides that, it is a very nice place and good value for money.

I got a private room which felt like an actual hotel room. The standard was much higher than expected. Some staff members were extremely kind to me. Good breakfast.

Check-in and check-out experience was a bit disorganised. Rice and curry dinner was good, but chicken rise not really. The guide to the rainforest organised by the hostel was pricey and didn't even speak English, so I didn't have the best experience with him.

It‘s close to the entry. Breakfast was okay for the price.

It wasn‘t clean, furniture was old and mattress was humid. We had to share the bathroom with the staff. Restaurant and Tour was overpriced. The staff was sometimes unpolite and unfriendly.

The location of the property is quite amazing, situated right next to the Petideniya entrance. Dorm rooms were clean and comfortable. The dining area was well appointed. The breakfast which was included in the price was good value. Having a pool when you are paying for a dorm bed feels quite luxurious!

As a guest I felt like the cheapest part of my stay was the cost of the dorm bunk. Menu items were high and the host put the hard sell on for the tours. I enjoyed the tour very much but it felt a little deceitful to pay a higher price because it was booked through the accommodation when you can walk 2 mins to the entrance of the forest and pay the entrance fee and a guide fee at a lesser price. I only wish to share this opinion as a suggestion to the hosts that they don’t need to charge such high prices that are likely to discourage guests to buy. You have a beautifully appointed slice of paradise that sells itself 😀

Lot of food for breakfast, beautiful location with swimming pool in front of the jungle. Food from the restaurant was not the cheapest but was insanely good.

Sinharaja hostel is located near the forest! You can hear the jungle animals, which is really relaxing. The hostel organised a tour (6 hours more or less) which leads you to two waterfalls. Had an amazing time over there!

Besides the jungle, there isn’t a lot to do in the area. One night gives you enough time to explore the rainforest!

The pool is gorgeous! Totally surrounded by nature. The place feels like a nice hotel aside from the dorm room factor (which I ended up having to myself!). The staff work very hard and are very accommodating. Breakfast included was a big win and it’s all you can eat buffet :)

The only thing is that the tours are over priced, walk 2 mins to the Forest Gate to get at least £10 off what the hostel ask for.

De location is perfect, the nature is amazing. Also the swimming pool was very nice. Tikiri works in the restaurant and he was so friendly. If it was just him we would definitely rate a 10/10.

The owner was not very friendly. The tour he offers is a bit expensive. If you book a tourguide with a small group it’s a lot cheaper.

Loved my stay here, it was very peaceful and in the middle of nature. The accommodation offers trips into the national park, my guide was very knowledgeable. They offer a great range of food options at the restaurant, the host is very friendly and welcoming.

I went there for one night and did the 7 hour tour through the jungle. There was only one other guest so it was a little bit lonely. The food was good and the room was nothing special but all right. I’d say if all 6 beds are full it might be really full because the room is not that big. Our guide was gorgeous, please tip them because they only get 2000 rupees from the 12000 you pay.
