Everything perfect

What lovely hosts at Sigiri Shen Residence! They made sure our stay there was comfortable and always gave us recommendations. The room was very spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend it if you want to stay near Sigiriya centre.

Great stay with very friendly people. I could organize a safari in advance so that we could start almost immediately after our arrival. The breakfast was delicious. You can have dinner as well, which is very delicious too.

I had a wonderful stay! The staff were very kind and attentive. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. I was especially touched that they congratulated me on my birthday such a lovely and thoughtful gesture! Thank you for making my stay so special.

A wonderful stay at Shen's residence. A loving, caring family who will give you good advice. The location is ideal, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the restaurant's food is excellent. You will have an incredible time in Sigiriya :)

After a couple of nights, I was moved into the new rooms away from the road. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet.

Rooms close to the road might be too noisy for light sleepers. No chairs in the room, but a comfortable terrace with chairs.

All very good! The staff, the room, the food

This was the best accomodation we had in Sri Lanka. It was perfectly clean, even though the upper floor was in construction, and it had everything we needed. The location is an oasis of peace and you will wish to stay longer! The family also cooks, and the food was out of this world, we enjoyed every bite and every sip of freshly squeezed fruit juices. We especially recommend maracuja and make sure to try their kottu! Besides all that, they were extremely kind and helped us with everything. They arranged us an elephant tour in a heartbeat, our driver arrived in 15mins. They also arranged us a tuktuk drives and they arranged our clothes to be washed in their neighbourhood. The lady that did it not only washed, but also ironed and folded it perfectly. It was the end of our trip so you can imagine the joy we had from this. We cannot wait to come back to this lovely place, because Im sure we will!

Everything was more than perfect!

We had a perfect stay at Sigiri Shen Residence. This is a family operated spot with everything you need for a comfortable, chilled out time after adventuring around Sigiriya. The food in their restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was a great start to the day. Everyone was super kind, helpful and friendly.

We had a lovely time in Shen Residence, the hosts are welcoming and friendly, and the breakfast is amazing with lots of fresh fruit. Location is perfect, very close to restaurants and bars, and to the main attractions of the areas, but also very peaceful and quiet. Highly recommend!

I’ve had a lovely time in this hotel, it did not feel like just a place to sleep in between all the touristy stuff to do, it was part of the experience visiting Sigiriya. It’s actually so nice and comfortable just chilling in the hotel. The room is spacious, absolutely spotlessly clean, and super comfortable. The balcony outside is a perfect hangout, and at night it’s beautiful to look at the moon giving light to the place. Shen is the absolute legend of a host, incredibly nice, thoughtful, was kind enough to bring me in a scooter night - an experience I’ll never forget - and was always kind to share suggestions on the best route to follow during my planned activities. Breakfast was sooo soooo good, I wish I had a bigger stomach to be able to eat more. Highly recommend this place, it’s super close to restaurants, main must sees and all, I’m a walker and consider all of this walking distance, but it’s all super close.

Shen was completely attentive to all needs while staying at the property. He has bikes for use which frees guests to roam around the moat and further.

Experienced a couple of electrical outages - out of control of property - but Shen provided lights right away.

Shen, his sister, and family were beyond kind and warm in their hospitality. They have a beautiful property where we stayed in a spacious and clean room that had comfortable seating outside our front door. Food at their restaurant was authentic and delicious with reasonable prices. We were able to walk to town from the property, but Shen was readily accessible and available to obtain and arrange for transfer to all the sites, including our private car transfer to Kandy. We would book this place again without hesitation.

The hosts themselves, very friendly people, helpful and always interested in what they experience :) Everything was organised for us on request. A great service. And the restaurant there also serves delicious food at local prices. The rooms are very large and really comfortable. The location is perfect, within the nature. The room was clean and very comfortable, with a private terrace. The breakfast was amazing! And Shen is a very friendly and polite guy, he helped us with everything, always available! Highly recommended

We had an amazing stay, such a nice welcoming family that go above and beyond to let you feel good. Definitely not to be taken for granted! We spent three nights and have wonderful memories. Breakfast is amazing, try the coconut pancakes and thank me later. Super recommended

The accommodation at Sigiri Shen Residence provides everything what you need when spending time in lovely village Sigiriya. Peaceful scenery, very good AC, and shower with warm water, and very comfortable beds with mosquito net. And the most important - hosts, incredibly caring and funny!!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Shen Homestay Sri Lanka, where we spent five nights. The host, Shen, and his family were incredibly kind and welcoming – we felt at home from the very first moment. The homestay is in a beautiful location close to Sigiriya, and it’s within walking distance of Sigiriya Rock, which made everything very convenient for us. They were also extremely helpful in arranging transportation and tours in the area, which we really appreciated. The on-site restaurant was cozy, and the food was absolutely delicious – some of the best we had on our entire trip. They also served excellent coffee – real Italian-style coffee – which we enjoyed every morning! A special highlight was the cooking class with Hansi. It was a lovely and authentic experience where we learned to make several different curry dishes, coconut roti, and other Sri Lankan specialties. It was both fun and educational, and we’re definitely bringing some of the recipes home with us. All in all, it was a fantastic place to stay for five nights, and we warmly recommend Shen Homestay to other families looking for an authentic, safe, and cozy stay in beautiful surroundings.
