The road from the bus stand to the house although it is walkable but is not in good condition & without streetlights so if you have big trolley bags like I had so better take an auto to reach there

Mr. Robert is a good man, speaks decent English, is really helpful and responsive and present. This property is near the bus stop and it is surrounded by nice greenery.

It was my first stay as a solo female traveller in Sri Lanka and Robert and his family welcomed me as if I was part of their family. I really enjoyed my stay and I could visit Dambulla and Sigiriya very easily. Thank you Robert, when I come back to Sri Lanka I will for sure come even just to say hello :)

I feel bad not giving a 10/10 review, especially after seeing so many great reviews and satisfied guests, but the truth is that some things didn’t go as expected. The hostel is a bit far from town, but the place itself is nice, and the owner, Robert, and his family are really friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed and easygoing, making it easy to unwind. Robert made me feel at home, preparing both dinner and breakfast. The room was clean and equipped with a private bathroom, fan, and mosquito net. He also arranges bike rentals. According to Booking, the room price was 910 LKR, which I thought was a great deal. Robert also offered to prepare rice and curry for dinner for 350 LKR, which seemed reasonable. The next morning, he made breakfast with jam, toast, eggs, and tea. However, when I checked out, he asked me to pay 3,000 LKR, which caught me off guard—I was expecting something closer to 2,000 LKR or less. Since he had been so kind, I just paid without questioning it. Another issue was the ongoing construction work for a new guest room. They played loud music until late at night (around 1 AM), and in the morning, the noise from the construction started early. Apart from these two things, I enjoyed my stay and would still recommend it. The price mix-up might have been a misunderstanding, and the noise was likely a temporary issue.

The room feels a bit damp

The hosts are really nice and warm. Robert helps with everything. We even could use the kitchen.and the fridge. We could walk to town. We had a room with 2 beds on the ground floor The matres is okay.Before the room we could sit outside. Danbulla,s Rock tempels are amazing.

The room was a bit humid and because the room is in fact open (Windows all have partially open area by design), the humid air came in the evening and when it's raining. The bed was humid and we were not used to it. Guess this problem happens only during the rainy season. Won't complain because the price is really cheap and the host has beed really kind to us.

Robert and his families were very kind to us and hosted us like friends. They gave us juice and coffee for free and let us enjoy the balcony of the guesthouse for the whole day while it was raining outside. They also gave us Mosquito-repellent coils in the evening. Although due to the weather we didn't do much in the area, we enjoyed the company and the peace in the guest house. Shower has good hot water which is great.

Staying at Robert’s was really good. Robert was very kind and helpfull. He drove us where we needed and even managed a safari tour for us. There was a little misunderstanding about the price, so be aware of assurance of the real price of activities ahead. But I still do recommend this place. Room was small but okay for two, there was a hot water in shower and we also got breakfast and dinner.

I was told that my room was recently done. Fridge was quite dirty in the inside and the room and bathroom full of dust from the works. It needs more attention to that.

The room with A/C was quite spacious. Bed was comfortable. It has a fridge that was handy to keep some water in it. Very well located. Just 10’ walking from the main street. Staff is very friendly.
