This is a tricky review to write. The lady who looked after us was very accommodating and helpful. The price we paid was very good. The location was great, very close to the beach and a couple of nice beachside restaurants. Our room had a lovely balcony with a view of the sea. We didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on that, but we were offered a nice piece of homemade cake on arrival.

Basically, this accommodation is going through a process of refurbishment. I appreciate that they still need to try and rent rooms during the process to generate a bit of income. Hopefully by next year, some of the work will be done.

Location is close to beach to any direction. Grandma who runs the place will make sure you feel like home, she will make you dinner for good price. We brought prawns from market that is located 50m away and she cooked us delicious devilled prawns. Stay is definetly worth the money.

Absolutely lovely stay! The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, creating a warm, family-like atmosphere that made me feel right at home. Breakfast was a real treat—you’ll never leave the table hungry, as they generously serve as much as you can eat! The location is fantastic, right by the beach and just a short stroll from the main swimming area. Highly recommended for a great stay!

We stayed in the basic room and had a lovely time here. The room has everything you need, a mosquito net, good fan, a table, stool and chair. The room is very quiet so we had the best sleep here. We had some mosquitoes in the room (as we left the windows open all day), but the rooms were free of spiders or other insects/animals that some people complained about in the reviews! The owner is the best she will make sure you have plenty of breakfast every morning and when you are unsure what to do she will give you recommendations for the day. We ate here 3 nights in a row as she is a great cook and she made us 3 different rice and curries (including 5 curries) each night. The dinner was very very affordable! The location is close to the tourist beach and walking distance form the city centre and bus stop. We will definitely stay here again!

The accommodation itself is simple, but sufficient, in the proximity of the sea. You can see sea from the balcony of one of the rooms. Extraordinary is the owner. This lady is so helpful and nice. She always prepared a rich tradional local breakfast. We asked for dinner as well and it was excellent containing fresh fishes and local dishes. During our stay I got sick and had to go to hospital. She called there, found the right one with the doctor for my diagnosis, she went there with me and was there all the with me. If you want to get in touch with local people and their way of life, definitively book for this accomodation.

Very pleasant hostel close to the beach and with a nice garden. My double room had a large comfortable bed with mosquito net and fan. Private bathroom too. The lady owner was very welcoming and gave me free tea and bananas on arrival. She served an excellent fish curry at 7pm and a good breakfast (rotis and idlis with maple syrup and marmalade) at any time you desired. The WiFi was a bit slow but could still connect to internet. Enough electric sockets to recharge my phone and camera. Good location not far from a supermarket and the bus station

Excellent value. Lovely big room. Good shower, fridge, balcony overlooking the garden & beach. Comfy bed. Mayuri is lovely. Very kind & welcoming. We enjoyed the Sri Lankan food she cooked for us & my husband especially liked the prawns & fish. Location is great for the beach & for the town & bus station.

I had a great stay. A few steps from the sea, close to the city center and the tourist beaches. The hosts are wonderful, the place is not fancy, pleasant for a backpacker stay. At one dinner, they prepared a huge, delicious fresh fish for me at a good price compared to any restaurant in the area. It was delicious and pleasant. I will come back to stay again

The host is SUUUUPER kind, she serves an incredible breakfast and makes sure you get full ;) The room is clean, super close to the beach in a beautiful small village. We absolutely loved it there!!!!! The price is MORE than fair for what you get <3

The owner of the hotel Rodrigo was amazing, so attentive and kind. She made me dinner on two separate occasions, Sri Lankan prawn and tuna curry with the 5 dishes. I am a solo female traveller and she told me the hotel is my home while I stay, she made me so comfortable. I was supposed to stay 2 nights and stayed 5 nights because I loved it so much. The location is perfect, the beach on your doorstep and beach bars/restaurants a two minute walk away. The bed was comfortable and the room big. She even bought me beers that I could have on the balcony at night. I would come back here without question.

The room was nice and clean! The owners are extremely kind and welcoming and it feels like family there! You won't be hungry after breakfast because they make you as much as you can eat! The location is also very good (directly at the beach, just a short walk to the main beach where you can chill and swim, not far from bank, supermarket and bus stand). Very good price for what you get!

Amazing host family. So welcoming and sweet. Would highly recommend having a dinner also as it was one of the best meals we have had. Location is great. Can hear the waves from the bedroom and watch the Sunrise. The main strip of restaurant and beaches is a close, pleasant walk. Very close to the harbour, great to watch the fisherman. Breakfast was yummy and filling to set you up for the day. Would recommend for an authentic experience. Thank you!!!!

It was great! Miss it already

Lovely and caring lady... Breakfast is included and generous. Room was nice, with balcony and sea/palm view... In the night you can hear the waves like in a Maldivian water villa.

WiFi was available but super slow, I had to use my private SIM card

- kind family - nice breakfast (all you can eat :D) - direct access to the beach from the backyard - tranquil surroundings - spacious room

- no duvet provided - only cold water in the shower - no wifi

This place is right on the beach and walking distance to town. The fish markets and harbour are close by and make a lively and interesting morning walk. The host is generous and made us feel very welcome. She was also thoughtful and keen to make our stay pleasant.

Such a lovely host. She is kind, devoted to your well being and spends time to talk with you and give you some great advice on things to do. She and her husband brought me by tuktuk to the next hostel I was going to and therefore I felt very safe. Thanks again !

Run by a very friendly grandma. She has a shop for the fishermen. With the income she gets from tourists, she wants to slowly improve the guesthouse. The free breakfast was very delicious and you can get a delicious dinner for very little money.

Really nothing, we where welcomed like family.
