Too many flies !

Room was OK for $$, shower was good, nice to have chairs outside door looking on to pool. The grounds were pleasant and it is well located for the beach and variety of restaurants.

That our room had the other guests outside the room's window having their breakfast on the verandah. There are only 2 other guest rooms so not really a big issue, but you'd expect the owners to have that particular room as it is also next to the kitchen?

Pool and garden were lovely. A little oasis. Room had everything we needed except a fridge. Breakfast was lovely as we took the choice of the local Sri Lankan breakfast.

The garden is beautiful and well-maintained. We were always looking forward to swimming in the pool. The area is calm and one can easily walk to the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Good location close to main Street and restaurants and shops but at the same time peacful, beautiful garden on the property, friendly staff and mosquito net and nice pool, would definitely recommend :)

The shower had very low pressure and A/C is very loud.

The guest house is in a very good location, only a few minutes walk away from the shops and the bitch. The room is very simple and the bathroom could have a better shower. The staff is polite and friendly. Good cheap option for a short stay.

Ordered local breakfast every day and never got what I ordered...wanted local spicy but it was not...got always day before a confirmation next morning will be fine...but it was not. Also be careful with coffee for breakfast. If you drink coffee before breakfast but skip for breakfast they charge you for coffee anyway. Acording to the offer coffee or tea is included in breakfast ...so this part I did not like....the owner put a lot of efforts in maintaining the garden and pool but tries to earn additional money this way what I inderstand but the way they do is not nice...just keep this in mind...

The metal bunk bed in the family room made a very loud squeaky sound every time you moved. We all had to sleep with ear plugs. The thin mattress of the bunk bed only holds small light weight children. They were thinking about buying a new wooden one, that would be an improvement.

We loved the setting with all the trees and plants. It’s a quiet street, away from the noisy main streets . The wooden furniture is tasteful and staff friendly and helpful. It’s an oasis.

Rooms are a little dark so some increased internal lighting options would be nice. Wi Fi near room 4 is week and drops out a bit so need to move around outside to get better signal.

After one month in guesthouses I was used to be more welcomed and have a guest friendly behaviour by the owners. In Embient you are more a walking purse as you have to purchase even half an hour arriving earlier if the room is ready and free. Also I am used to get a coffee or tea for free just as a welcome, but they purchase high price on this.

The pool is a nice plus and the room is spacious and you have a good hot shower.

The bathroom did not have an exhaust ,and becasue of it there was a small window in place which has to be cranked open when in use,which invites plenty of mosquitos.No kettle in the room. And no toileteries.when we stayed there for a night,there was a powercut which lasted for hours in the daytime,which was unbearable heat. Maybe a power backup in place could fix it.

The pool was amazing and the staff were friednly and polite. The room was clean and so was the bathroom and the common area.very close to the beach(10min walk to the browns beach) ,close to many eateries and supermarkets but in a peaceful neighborhood.Towels and sheets were clean.

Embiente Guest House is a lovely oasis of calm with a beautiful garden and pool. A great place to relax after our travels around Sri Lanka and before our flight home. The breakfast was very good and kindly prepared early morning to suit our needs. The hosts were friendly and very helpful (especially, for us, with advise about local hospitals). Recommended.
