How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewThis was such a unique experience. The room is set high among the trees and was very peaceful. The hosts are extremely kind and attentive. They make you feel part of the family and will do their best to meet any requests. The food was delicious and plentiful. The hammock was a nice place to relax and reflect on the adventures of the day. I would highly recommend this place.
The stairs to the room need some repairs to give a better feeling of safety. The shower wasn't warm enough for me.

Verified reviewThis is the first time for us to stay in a tree house. This place was very nice, with privacy and close to nature. We felt immersed in the forest with lots of wildlife around. This is a very comfortable place to escape from the city. The environment was clean, very functional, with a hot water shower, an electric fan and hair dryer. The host decorated the room nicely with flowers, welcoming drinks and amenities. The room has no a/c but was very airy. It comes with a mosquito net so we slept comfortably. At night we saw some fireflies as well! And the most important thing is that the host and her family were so nice and took care of us very well. They offered a lot of help to our transport and planning. Breakfast was included and dinner can be requested too (extra charges, reasonable and affordable price). Don't miss the Sri Lankan food they cooked! This is a really nice place to stay especially if you want to have some interaction with local people. Thank you so much. ♥️

Verified reviewIt wa great sleeping in a comfortable tree house and being able to experience nature. The food was exceptional and prepared by the very knowledgeable host, who explained the ingredients and what they were good for. The hosts couldn't do enough to make my stay exceptional.
A bit tricky to find for some tuck drivers to find, but they were always able to work it out.

The bathroom is functional but the shower could use some work as the water doesn’t drain properly

Verified reviewStay here was a great adventure because sleeping in a Tree House is something unusual. The House is really comfortable and clean. But the best here is host family. They are super helpfull, warm and very kind. They were always happy to help us or just to have a chat and tell us something about theirs country, culture and food. The mels were also really delicious. The area of Dambulla is also worth seeing. I really recommend this place and I wish I could come back here one day.

Verified reviewIt was fun to stay in a tree house, but the star of the show is Pradeepka and her husband Nishenka. They do everything possible to make sure your stay is exactly how you want it. Nishenka took us on safari in his jeep, and an Ayurvedic massage was arranged for us on our way back. We could have had a cooking class as well.

The bathroom is a bit basic, but does have hot water and a decent toilet.

Verified reviewPradeepika and her husband were so good to us. They arranged trips to Sigiriya, the Cave Temple and Kaudulla National Park. Pradeepika's breakfast and dinner were delicious. The Tree House is surrounded by beautiful jungle, with deer and jungle birds seen and heard at all hours.

Verified reviewIt was a magical experience to stay at Dambulla tree house.The owners were very welcoming and the food on offer was totally delicious, friendly, helpful staff with a good explanation for every dish they served. If you love to cook authentic foods they arrange it in their farm hut, it's an awesome experience to know how they prepare local foods.. I loved the rustic architecture of the treehouse accommodation and the beautiful green surroundings . The bed was comfortable and I had a good sleep. I saw and heard many beautiful birds and other native wildlife, such as squirrels, jungle fowls, mongoose, land monitors and more fire flies during the night. It was a great place to relax and also a good base to visit the many sites of the cultural triangle, Dambulla, Sigiriya, Pindurangala.. They have well organized jeep safari service to watch wild elephants..

Verified reviewA tree house has wide open windows which can be kept wide open (mosquito nets over the beds, not many mosquitos though). During the day, it is possible to encounter birds or squirrels; at night, to see fireflies. So, the experience translates into living and sleeping in the canopy. The green forest-like scenery is the greatest but not the only value of the place. Other benefits of the place are: - the location is conveniently very close to the main attractions: Dambulla cave temple, Sigiriya, Minneriya National Park and Pidurangala Rock - the safari jeep hire (with the driver) to conveniently visit the Minneriya park Probably naturally to Sri Lankans, the hosts are very kind and caring and love good humour. Rooms are kept clean and toilets/showers are well maintained. The place offers Sri Lankan food and also the possibility of a cooking demonstration/workshop.
