How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewPradeep and his family are excellent hosts. Superb food, rooms are an incredible standard for the price and it was lovely to cool off in the swimming pool after a visit to the nearby cave temples (which are incredible). Pradeep also arranged a safari for us at the nearby Minneriya national park where we saw countless elephants up close. Nothing was too much trouble.

The staff were so warm and friendly and the food was some of the best we had on our trip; absolutely delicious and prepared with such care. Our room was really comfortable, big and very clean.

You must be aware of the fact that it’s difficult to get tuktuk or taxi as the accommodation is in the middle of nowhere. It’s fine but according to me overrated. We saw the towels been washed in the river but of course there s no many things available. We had our own driver/tourguide. He was very sad as he was not allowed no come out of the car or have a drink with us. The owners wife refused him on the property he told us afterwards. Probably because this accommodation wants to organize tours themselves.
Thank you very much my friend for your review .honesty we know its not your idea.your guid's/driver's idea. We had lot of drivers.most of them really friendly and nice. we have two wachine machines and after wash we put towels outside for dry.yes i was wash nearby river few years ago.but not now. If you invite your driver thats no problem for us for sure.but problem is he asking about free beers.we cant offer free beers.we know lot of hotels offer them commission /foods/alchol some thing like this. When someone come to our place we always offer them tea or juice.its not for money its Our culture . We dont need to offer you any trasport for you.becouse we know clearly our job is renting rooms and foods. Im sure you will Understand end of your tour what was really happend.there are so many good helpful guids in sri lanka.unfortunatly i guess you Missed that..anyway if we made anymistake apologize for that.also we wish wonderful trip in sri lanka buttom of the heart..🖤

Verified reviewThis a beautiful place to stay. The family rooms are exceptional. New, modern, large and clean. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help you. The woman who is doing the daily management (forgot her name) is doing great. She also provides a daily educational tour through their gardens. The swimming pool is pleasant and the evening curry buffet tastes great. Taken together we highly recommend this place.

Verified reviewPredep is the kindest most generous host we have ever met! He welcomes you not only to the beautiful Dambulla area of Sri Lanka but also his village and family! The property is clean, comfortable and really beautifully maintained. A sunset walk through the fields, a farm tour and help to organise all your side trips such as temples, safari and connections to your next location. Nothing is ever too much trouble and he is always smiling! It was an absolute pleasure to stay here, only wish it was longer than 2 nights

Verified reviewThe location is a 15 minutes drive from Dambulla. The surroundings are beautiful. The staff comes off as friendly.
- tourist trick. When arriving, almost the first thing that was said was that we booked a room without air-conditioning in the old building €36. (They have 2 rooms in the old building, and more rooms with ac in the new building). The picture of our booking was showed and they insisted on showing their other rooms. 3 different rooms were showed to us, wich price was €100 per night (price was mentioned after showing). Since the room we booked was with no AC, we questioned.if it wouldn't be too hot. The price got dropped to €75 without saying a word. Then when we still were thinking about the price, since it was too much for us, the price got dropped lower, and eventually it became €51. We decided to take the room, because of the airconditioning, since we had a bad experience in another accommodation without air-conditioning. Later we found out that 6 other couples booked the same room as we booked, while there are only 2 of these old rooms. 4 of the couples where showed the new rooms and told they would not have AC in the old room. 4 of us payed more than the price we originally booked, because we eventually ''choose" for the room with AC. ----> This is a trick get more money out of a booking. If we wouldn't have chosen the new rooms, other people would have slept in them for the same price as they old room since they only have 2 old rooms. Paying more for a room with AC is not the problem. The problem is not being honest and tricking tourist into paying more. It takes away the charme. Especially because of them talking about village people always want money from tourist and village people being honest. It was not the staff there fault, it is the owner who probably does this, who was also not at the accommodation while we were there.

Verified reviewWe had an absolutely perfect stay. The traditional meals (lunches and dinners) prepared with care and attention by Charuki and Thilina were delicious and made with ingredients from their own organic farm. Pradeep introduced us to local life and customs, and made every move we made in the region easier. Unforgettable memories and a place we highly recommend to anyone wishing to experience the true heart of Sri Lanka — in every sense of the word.

It’s clear that this space was created by Pradeep and his family with vision and the purest of intentions — and you can truly feel it in every detail. From the farm to the food to their warm presence, everything radiates care and authenticity. We felt at home from the very first moment. Pradeep and his family have created a true paradise, nestled in the heart of nature. We’re deeply grateful to have spent a few days in such a special and nourishing environment. Thank you for sharing it with us. If you want to experience village life in a non-touristic environment, I truly recommend this place. The farm visit, the beautiful countryside walk, and the sunset stroll were all unforgettable. Here, you get to taste authentic rural life in its purest form.

Verified reviewDefinitely the best place we stayed at in Sri Lanka. Pradeep and his family - his little daugther tia was so cute - were super welcoming and taught us a lot about the Sri Lankan culture, the farm life and much more. The sunset tour and the farm tour were a big bonus! The food was delicious, the pool was the perfect cool down after a hot day. Also a very big shout out to Deshani, who was super friendly and answered all our questions, always with the biggest smile - fell like talking to a friend! We are definitely coming back soon!

Verified reviewAmazing location! First we thought we would be disappointed when we arrived by he very bumpy road, but obviously driver took the wrong road. The place is wonderful between rice fields and banana plantation on a family farm! The pool helped our kids to get activated and with little baby Tia everything was perfect for them too! Pradeep and his family made us feel as home and welcome, and gave us a very nice first impression of SriLanka! Thank you so much!
The pool area could benefit from some more sun chairs or beds as there were not enough for all the guest using the pool.
Thank you very muvh for your wonderful review and really nice time with you..also really thank full for your wonderful advices for me..good luch for your wonderful family 🖤

Verified reviewPradeep and his family who runs the hotel are very genuine and friendly persons who do their best to make sure your stay with them are great. When we firs came Pradeep took us with him to watch the sunset from one of the fields nearby. He showed us around their farm and told us about the different trees and vegetables they grow. Breakfast and dinner are Sri lankan, very tasty and well prepared. Overall it's a place with a very family friendly atmosphere and for us it was a great place to start our Sri lankan adventure.
Some construction work was ongoing when we were there.

Verified reviewOur days there were incredible. Pradeep, his family and the staff always took care of us, it was a warmhearted welcome. Helped us with activities, transport and anything needed. The different food and curries were delicious — all of them cooked by Pradeeps mother. Our rooms were clean. We stayed within the treehouse and the „newer“ rooms, which were really modern. Would absolutely recommend to stay here. It was such a pleasure for us!
As there are fruit plantations all around the accommodation, I would recommend to serve some fruits for the breakfast. But it’s just a small nice-to-have add-on. Everything was just perfect.

Verified reviewWe spent four wonderful days here. Blue Mountains View is beautifully nestled in nature and blends harmoniously into the surroundings. The newly built rooms aren’t just nice in the photos – they’re even more beautiful in real life: cozy, tastefully furnished, and designed with great attention to detail. The dinner, cooked with ingredients from their own farm, is truly exceptional – and breakfast was just perfect for us every single morning. A real highlight is the farm itself – make sure to take a tour! In general: if you have any questions, you’ll be helped with kindness and care at any time. We really can’t understand the few negative reviews – they read as if the guests had never actually been here. We can wholeheartedly recommend Blue Mountains View – we had the most beautiful days of our trip here. Thank you! 🙏

Verified review- Very friendly hotel owners/ staff! They are super helpful and help you organize everything for your day trips (safari, tuk tuks, etc.). They also like to chat with you and show you around, which makes you feel at home. They also are honest people (every price is said upfront). - very calm, as you are far from the craziness of Sigiriya/Dambula. - in the nature !! You can walk in the banana plants and palm trees.enjoy a nice view from some rooms (not from the pool/main area though) - nice food, everything home made with products from the garden. - overall very nice experience ! :)
- while the place is quite cheap (~35€/night, 7€/ meal), certain extras seem a bit expensive compared to country standards (3€/ can of soda/beer) - the place is still under construction. This is not a major issue as they do their possible to minimize impact but you can hear work from time to time. But I assume this is temporary!
