Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomPradeep and his family are excellent hosts. Superb food, rooms are an incredible standard for the price and it was lovely to cool off in the swimming pool after a visit to the nearby cave temples (which are incredible). Pradeep also arranged a safari for us at the nearby Minneriya national park where we saw countless elephants up close. Nothing was too much trouble.

We loved the location and the beautiful surroundings, how quiet and peaceful it is. The pool was such a great bonus and was perfect to cool off. The staff were so warm and friendly and the food was some of the best we had on our trip; absolutely delicious and prepared with such care. Our room was really comfortable, big and very clean.

This a beautiful place to stay. The family rooms are exceptional. New, modern, large and clean. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help you. The woman who is doing the daily management (forgot her name) is doing great. She also provides a daily educational tour through their gardens. The swimming pool is pleasant and the evening curry buffet tastes great. Taken together we highly recommend this place.

NetherlandsI loved everything. Pradeep greats you in the most warming way and really does his best to help you during and after your stay. We stayed for only one night, and he took us for a walk amongst the village and told us about village culture in Sri Lanka. The most real stay we had in Sri Lanka and we have recommended our friends this place as well. Amazing dinner!!!!

AustraliaPredep is the kindest most generous host we have ever met! He welcomes you not only to the beautiful Dambulla area of Sri Lanka but also his village and family! The property is clean, comfortable and really beautifully maintained. A sunset walk through the fields, a farm tour and help to organise all your side trips such as temples, safari and connections to your next location. Nothing is ever too much trouble and he is always smiling! It was an absolute pleasure to stay here, only wish it was longer than 2 nights

SwitzerlandEverything is perfect ! :)
We had an absolutely perfect stay. The traditional meals (lunches and dinners) prepared with care and attention by Charuki and Thilina were delicious and made with ingredients from their own organic farm. Pradeep introduced us to local life and customs, and made every move we made in the region easier. Unforgettable memories and a place we highly recommend to anyone wishing to experience the true heart of Sri Lanka — in every sense of the word.

BelgiumWhat an incredible and inspiring place. It’s clear that this space was created by Pradeep and his family with vision and the purest of intentions — and you can truly feel it in every detail. From the farm to the food to their warm presence, everything radiates care and authenticity. We felt at home from the very first moment. Pradeep and his family have created a true paradise, nestled in the heart of nature. We’re deeply grateful to have spent a few days in such a special and nourishing environment. Thank you for sharing it with us. If you want to experience village life in a non-touristic environment, I truly recommend this place. The farm visit, the beautiful countryside walk, and the sunset stroll were all unforgettable. Here, you get to taste authentic rural life in its purest form.

Definitely the best place we stayed at in Sri Lanka. Pradeep and his family - his little daugther tia was so cute - were super welcoming and taught us a lot about the Sri Lankan culture, the farm life and much more. The sunset tour and the farm tour were a big bonus! The food was delicious, the pool was the perfect cool down after a hot day. Also a very big shout out to Deshani, who was super friendly and answered all our questions, always with the biggest smile - fell like talking to a friend! We are definitely coming back soon!

DenmarkThe pool area could benefit from some more sun chairs or beds as there were not enough for all the guest using the pool.
Amazing location! First we thought we would be disappointed when we arrived by he very bumpy road, but obviously driver took the wrong road. The place is wonderful between rice fields and banana plantation on a family farm! The pool helped our kids to get activated and with little baby Tia everything was perfect for them too! Pradeep and his family made us feel as home and welcome, and gave us a very nice first impression of SriLanka! Thank you so much!

SwedenSome construction work was ongoing when we were there.
Pradeep and his family who runs the hotel are very genuine and friendly persons who do their best to make sure your stay with them are great. When we firs came Pradeep took us with him to watch the sunset from one of the fields nearby. He showed us around their farm and told us about the different trees and vegetables they grow. Breakfast and dinner are Sri lankan, very tasty and well prepared. Overall it's a place with a very family friendly atmosphere and for us it was a great place to start our Sri lankan adventure.

GermanyAs there are fruit plantations all around the accommodation, I would recommend to serve some fruits for the breakfast. But it’s just a small nice-to-have add-on. Everything was just perfect.
Our days there were incredible. Pradeep, his family and the staff always took care of us, it was a warmhearted welcome. Helped us with activities, transport and anything needed. The different food and curries were delicious — all of them cooked by Pradeeps mother. Our rooms were clean. We stayed within the treehouse and the „newer“ rooms, which were really modern. Would absolutely recommend to stay here. It was such a pleasure for us!

Germany-
We spent four wonderful days here. Blue Mountains View is beautifully nestled in nature and blends harmoniously into the surroundings. The newly built rooms aren’t just nice in the photos – they’re even more beautiful in real life: cozy, tastefully furnished, and designed with great attention to detail. The dinner, cooked with ingredients from their own farm, is truly exceptional – and breakfast was just perfect for us every single morning. A real highlight is the farm itself – make sure to take a tour! In general: if you have any questions, you’ll be helped with kindness and care at any time. We really can’t understand the few negative reviews – they read as if the guests had never actually been here. We can wholeheartedly recommend Blue Mountains View – we had the most beautiful days of our trip here. Thank you! 🙏

France- while the place is quite cheap (~35€/night, 7€/ meal), certain extras seem a bit expensive compared to country standards (3€/ can of soda/beer) - the place is still under construction. This is not a major issue as they do their possible to minimize impact but you can hear work from time to time. But I assume this is temporary!
- Very friendly hotel owners/ staff! They are super helpful and help you organize everything for your day trips (safari, tuk tuks, etc.). They also like to chat with you and show you around, which makes you feel at home. They also are honest people (every price is said upfront). - very calm, as you are far from the craziness of Sigiriya/Dambula. - in the nature !! You can walk in the banana plants and palm trees.enjoy a nice view from some rooms (not from the pool/main area though) - nice food, everything home made with products from the garden. - overall very nice experience ! :)

From the moment you arrive, you feel genuinely welcome. Pradeep, the owner, and everyone working there are incredibly hospitable. Nothing is too much to ask – anything is possible and everything is done with a smile. The food, lovingly prepared by Pradeep’s mother, is absolutely delicious – fresh, flavorful, and made with care. It’s one of the highlights of the stay. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean. They’re equipped with everything you need for a comfortable and restful stay. In short: Blue Mountains View is a place you simply can’t miss on your journey through Sri Lanka. Staying here is an experience you’ll carry with you long after your trip is over.

Pradeep is the best host you can imagine. He teaches us more in 24 hours than we could learn in school. He takes us on a tour through his village and farm. He let us taste so many tasty fruits. His mother cooked a delicious diner for us, all with organic vegetables! The swimming pool is super, we enjoyed it in the evening. Don’t search longer; this is the best experience you will get in Sri Lanka. So pure being with the locals in a small village. Pradeep we love you and your beautiful family 🥰

Blue mountains view is a green oasis in a rural area near Dambulla. It‘s an extraordinary experience to stay here and it was by far the most relaxing, interesting, educational and beautiful place on our whole trip. There are many factors that play into it: The wonderful room with huge windows, a minimalistic asthetic and an outdoor bathroom, the very delicious vegan curries every evening with never before tasted plants like bananaflower, the beautiful surroundings and the newly built swimming pool… Most important though to make this an unforgettable experience are Pradeem and his team. Pradeem has tons of stories and bits of knowledge about rural Sri Lanka that he likes to share, Tissa‘s tour of the garden and many different plants is very interesting. Pradeem - having grown up in this village - has a clear vision of building a place where travellers can learn about the ways of living in rural Sri Lanka and to provide opportunities for the local community.

GermanyNothing. Maybe tell the guests in advance that there is a easier way to get to the accommodation. Our uber driver had a short hard time as he took the way Google maps showed him. But anyway, you will find it :)
This accommodation was the best one we had so far in Sri Lanka. Pradeep created a wonderful place in the middle of a small village. We came because friends recommended it to us and in between their visit and our visit he installed a big, beautiful pool right next to the apartments. We had one of the "old" rooms, but could have changed it to the new ones after the first night, but we really liked our room, it felt like we are in a tree house. We were able to take a look in the new rooms and they looked amazing. The stay exceeded our expectations. We stayed three nights and recommend to stay at least two nights. We also recommend to do all the offered walks to get an insight in the farm life, the culture and to see fireflies :) Thanks again to Pradeep and his team!

AustriaValue for money was okay. Although the whole place is fantastic, it is pretty expensive for Sri Lankan standards - even in that category. There are new rooms and a bit older ones - we would definitely recommend the new ones as we saw a few guests not being very satisfied with the others, so be aware of that when booking, as there is of course a price difference.
Pradeep is a very friendly and helpful host, his whole family and team - especially also Dissa and Deshani - create a very welcoming atmosphere, up to the point where they brought me coffee in the early morning directly to the balcony. We stayed in one of the new rooms with AC and big window walls - they are incredibly beautiful. Good amenities. Great, authentic Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner. The area is stunning: We got a tour around the farm and the village and could experience real localism that way. With the new pool it is definitely a highlight off the beaten track.
