Our room was quite damp because of the damp bathroom. The bed was shorter than normal, which was really too short for a tall Dutchie. Hard pillows. But overall still good value for the price!

It was not possible to order additionally breakfast so it's good other restaurants are around the corner. It can be pretty noisy at night because of parties in Ella.

Nothing really to complain about....there was a bit of loud music from the discotheque down the road 11pm till 12 but its nothing major...i was very tired and slept like a log....overall v happy with my one night stay at this hostel....highly recommend

The host Aruna was exceptionally kind and helpful, gave excellent tips and advice for a new tourist to feel at home very quickly...the hostel room is very clean and functional, everything was there, ac, nice bed, shower, power points.... all my needs were met..its v close to town center

Aruna was an excellent host. He welcomed us on arrival and made sure we had everything we needed in our room. He advised on good local restaurants and events taking place in Ella. He arranged a Tut Tut to take us with luggage to the station the night before we needed it and confirmed it with us the following morning. The location was excellent, 5 minutes from the main street in Ella. The room was well equipped and clean.

Unfortunately the fan wasn't enough for us to sleep comfortably without a/c, but we're from a cold country so it would probably be sufficient for those who are used to higher temperatures!

It could be a bit cleaner, especially the sheets. But for the very reasonable price, it's nothing I'm complaining about. You just shouldn't expect too much luxury. ;)

The location is ideal for exploring Ella, although it's not exactly quiet, as it's close to the town center. You have to decide for yourself what's more important to you. The owners are very friendly, and the seating area in the courtyard is nice.

Just fyi, the street is really steep. It may be dangerous if you're driving and it's raining.

The pillows were like sleeping on bricks. The room and toilet were small .. but as I said… incredible value for money.

We loved this little homestay and our host Arun. He has built 2 rooms for guests which offer great value for money. A major bonus is the property is only up a slight rickety hill from the main street of Ella. Many other properties are further up the hill or around another corner and up a bigger hill.. so the location for us was great. The photo you see if the property is a lovey little garden just outside if the 2 rooms. Arun helped us organize our laundry and was always on hand to offer endless cups of tea.

As it’s so near to the Main Street you could hear the karaoke bar which was quite noisy. Take earplugs and you won’t hear a thing though!

The apartment is a 2 minute walk from the Main Street where there is everything you need. Aruna the owner was so friendly, he made us a delicious pot of tea when we arrived and then every day of our stay. We were there for the Sri Lankan New Year and he also prepared a lovely breakfast for us.

We had a lovely stay here. The room is basic but with all you need and had the comfiest bed and pillow we have had on our trip in Sri Lanka. The host is so warm and welcoming and it was lovely sharing tea on the patio. Thank you!

It would be perfect if there was drinking water and/or breakfast availability. Ella's main street is a bit noisy even from afar, but that's not the inn's fault.

A cup of tea overlooking the garden on arrival and a warm welcome from the delightful host.... not to mention the fact that it's only about 100 metres from the bus station (but tucked away out of sight and away from the noise of a tourist town). This was one of the highlight 'stays' of our trip, and, especially given the price, is highly recommended for budget-conscious travellers who like a touch of four-star treatment. Ella is such a tiny town that 59B Rest Inn is close to everything, and the host told us the quick way -- the way the locals know -- to get to the Nine Arches Bridge without paying a rupee. We have a garden-lover in the family, and 59B boasts a rich and varied collection of plants. So I can't think of a single thing not to praise.
