Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaFYI, there are mosquitoes 24/7. Watch out not to keep your balcony door open . Need to go in and out quickly. They also get more intense starting at 6:00 pm. Bring calamine lotion w you . If you do not have it, I used fresh lime wedges on my legs 2-3 x a day for comfort and anti itch. It helped me cope. I understand we are in the mountains and rainforest but I have been to other Caribbean islands and I have never experienced so many bites. I just want to let anyone know, because I , by the end of my trip wanted to get back home. Please use repellent or a Vaseline type repellent , you can purchase it at the mini Massey store or the larger Massey store. When we arrived, I asked if and when about mosquitoes and I was told there are none , not to worry. Unfortunately, I was not very cautious and by the time I saw all my bites it was too late. St Lucia is a beautiful place , but just a heads up re : mosquitoes. They are also in soufriere and everywhere - Sun flys, and sand flys. They like to bite at bottom parts of your legs. I spoke to another tourist, she mentioned she forgot to rub her legs w baby oil on the day we both felt we were getting bit( you can not see some kinds of mosquitoes, they are really small). I never tried , I had none . So research , what natural repellent might work as well. I asked a room keeper, what can be done in the room, she offered to spray some repellent around bottom of bed and washroom areas in the room. I felt more at ease once that was done. Keep your self covered with sheets at night when sleeping, I woke with New bites in the morning. Maybe a mesh over bed would help. However, my husband had far less then I . When I was there , I researched online and I found out that they are attracted to different kinds and types of scents. I am just giving a heads up, that is all. I hope this information helps and enjoy St Lucia! 😁

Saint LuciaThe electricity went out several times (the breaker tripped) because of a faulty toaster or electrical outlet. Loud talking and laughing from a room nearby.

ItalyNothing they did everything at a 10/10.
The location, the facilities of the place, the outstanding service of the staff. Everything was run with Swiss perfection and execution which in St Lucia is a miracle. Outstanding service, experience, location. I loved every second of it.

United KingdomThe breakfast was not the best, although you can't fault the effort. Just before aware finding dining options in the evening in the region is difficult so make use of the cooker!
The hotel is situated in a very beautiful spot above the town of Soufrier. If you have a car then it is a perfect location with beautiful views of the Pitons and is small and peaceful.

United KingdomOur first ever visit to Soufrière (and St Lucia!) so we took a gamble on Samfi Gardens - we did not regret it! Check-in was easy. We hired a car, but there's space to park. The room was very spacious and had everything we needed. The bed was massive and very comfy. You could hear a lot of wildlife noise at night, which was beautiful. The view from the room, balcony and pool are phenomenal. You can see the beautiful coloured rooftops of the buildings of Soufrière, the beach, the sulphur spring, the two Pitons... everything. Felt very blessed to see such beauty. The staff we dealt with with all lovely as well. I can't recommend this place enough.

United KingdomNothing - it ticked every box for us.
The staff were fantastic, always helpful and always happy. Room was clean, big bed, Netflix. The beer and wine in the fridge on-site was great value and the most important of all for us …..the view and tranquility of samfi gardens was absolutely fantastic.

United KingdomHonestly not a thing, my only regret is not staying for longer.
Absolutely everything, from start to finish! Finding the property was easy, the location & view was breathtaking! The room was spacious, clean, good kitchen facilities, comfy bed & hot shower along with a good sized balcony. I requested a Birthday surprise for my partner & the staff went above & beyond to accommodate this & my partner felt very special, even lighting candles when we arrived. The location & view of the hotel exceeded my expectations! I noticed others had commented about parking & although there are only a couple of spaces, we managed to find space parking to the side with plenty of space for other cars to do the same. This did not bother us, we understand the geography cannot be changed so easily & is part of the island. I can’t wait to return to this hotel & throughly enjoy it!

United KingdomSome have written negatively that you need a car to stay at Samfi Gardens, this is quite true but it is also quite obvious from the listing so shouldn't be a negative 😂 The short road into the hotel is very rough and is the only thing I thing the owners should attend to, it really doesn't need to be this rough. Like the whole of St Lucia if you are hiring a car make sure it is a 4x4 you will need it.
Pretty much everything, our Honeymoon Suite was larger than it looks in the photos, the bed was huge, good wardrobe space, nice spacious kitchen and a decent sized bathroom. The main attraction though is the view from the balcony and all rooms of the Pitons, Amazing. All the staff were happy smiling and helpful, especially Brian the security guard who was always in evidence and had something nice to say when we arrived back from dinner, you got the impression that he had eyes on everything and you would be very safe at night. The ladies in the office were also very happy and friendly and suggested our favourite beach, Paradise Beach, we wouldn't have found it without them. Samfi Gardens is not a 5* AI resort and doesn't claim to be and you will not be paying 1,000's of £ a night to stay there but it certainly have the very best view of the Pitons in St Lucia and everything it does do it does very well
