How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewI enjoyed the location. Very close to the mall. Also liked having cold filtered water available in a few locations on the property. The staff was very willing and helpful. The breakfast buffet is always the best part 10/10. The pool was warm in the night that was nice as well. Comfortable bed and beds were made and room was cleaned daily. Coffee and tea and sugar also provided.
I can't think of anything I specifically did not like.

Verified reviewThe hotel was close to alot of amenities. The hotel grounds were nice. We loved the mango tree. The bus to the Bay Garden Resort was good and to be able to use the beach and facilities free of charge was a bonus.
The hotel room could do with a redesign. The traffic could be heard through the windows. The windows had no inner curtains so there was no privacy. The rooms were small for the amount we paid. There were little ants all around the room which we had to get used to! Staff were unreponsive to emails, which is frustrating. Communication really needs to improve. I think i am being generous by giving a 4 star.

Verified reviewMajority of staff were really friendly. Location was great and close to everything.
Room was not the biggest and a bit distorted compared to the pictures. Our room ended up being an adjoining room in an apartment and unfortunately could hear everything from our neighbours who kept us awake all night every night for the duration of our stay. Given it was our honeymoon we requested to move rooms to have a bit more peace, but staff did not help or take our complaint seriously. Was a bit disappointed as we probably would have enjoyed our stay more if this hadn't happened.

Verified reviewBreakfast fairly good,but the menu at times was a bit off.I got a milk cup a the bottom had a roach or some other thing in it. But I already used it and drink my tea with it . The staff just apologised.The towels sometimes smell like egg.

Verified reviewBreakfasts were varied and good quality. Location near stores was convenient and a free shuttle was provided to the beach. Taxis were available everywhere at reasonable cost. Pools were clean and grounds well maintained.
Upkeep on the property could have been improved (looked like it was in it's prime a decade ago). Staff were a mixed bag with some friendly and outgoing, others not so much. Too much emphasis on U.S. currency instead of local currency (usually means paying more).

Verified reviewVery good breakfast. Nice little basic hotel kept spotlessly clean and friendly staff. The hotel has two swimming pools. Great location within easy walking distance of good bars, restaurants and beach. There was also access to the other hotels in the Bay Gardens group.
It was a bit of a trek to the room which was a bit tired and needed refreshing but I should say we were only here for the night so only booked the most basic room. For some bizarre reason the light switch for the main light was across the room from the front door so we were fumbling around in the dark trying to get some light.

Very disappointed my room did not have a terrace - most rooms did have one, not sure what I got wrong! Breakfast buffet was hit and miss - very surprised at lack of good fruit salad (there was fruit salad but very standard considering it is a island full of fruit! but the plaintain porridge was fantastic) Pools are very small - photos on the website are deceptive

Verified reviewWe stayed in a Croton Suite which was comfortable and spotlessly clean, with a small but lovely swimming pool directly outside. The suite was reasonably well-equipped, our request for some additional items was quickly met. Housekeeping was excellent and the grounds were pleasant and well-maintained. Breakfast was plentiful. Great location for local supermarket, shops and restaurants, and the complimentary beach shuttle was a bonus. We needed medical treatment during our stay which was quickly arranged by a highly professional front desk staff member. Unfortunately, in our panic we didn't get her name, but our thanks to her and to Ms Jackie and Ms Gustave for their reassurance and kindness throughout!
The only negative, during an otherwise very enjoyable stay, was the inconsistent and sometimes very slow service in the restaurant.

Verified reviewThis hotel was absolutely amazing. I am glad that I made the choice as it had lovely features with pleasant pool and bathing area. The rooms were amazing, large and very clean. The breakfast was a really good spread and the variety was good. I must say that the customer service and hospitality was of a high standard. I realised that St Lucia pride themselves on good manners and good hospitality. The hotel was in the middle of a shopping centre with local supermarkets. Very enjoyable able stay.
The was not really much not to like. We had a good experience.
