Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSee above and they need to learn how to make a pot of tea!
There was a good array of buffet food but the egg station wasn't ready & some items weren't laid out when breakfast opened, which is a problem if you're on a tight deadline for a day trip. If you arrived later for breakfast, there wasn't so much choice.

PortugalThe food service was horrendous and the variety even worse. In 8 days we never got a lunch or dinner which took less than 1h30min and sometimes over 2h— even when we were the only ones waiting to be served. On average it took 45min just to get some bread and butter. The food was always the same and not great at all. From raw pizza to overcooked pasta. The restaurant staff isn’t bothered and couldn’t care less. They see you waiting for ages, asking for the order status but they ignore it and prefer to play with cutlery while setting empty tables. It was the worst hotel restaurant service of my life in dozens of places in the Caribbean. No matter how much you complained to the management, no one would do a thing about it. Also, they have day passes for cruise tourists who overload the beach and pool beds until a point where the hotel guests don’t have where to lie down. The cruise people gave a horrible ambient, they were always loud, dirty, intoxicated, leaving empty plastic cups inside the pool and smoking weed all around. There should be an area or some beds just for hotel guests but not even that. On the beach, local vendors will disturb you every hour and so do the hotel boat activities staff. Every single day. The internet would not have signal in many places of the hotel, room included. There is construction ongoing and when you are relaxing in the beach you’ll constantly ear the noise of man and machines working. The room had a view to the construction site which was very miserable.
The beach access was nice. The rooms were large, clean and pleasant. With the exception of the restaurant staff and the security guards at the beach, all others were very nice, specially the cleaners.

Czech RepublicSeverely understaffed (or poorly managed) - takes forever to get anything (food, towels, table, etc). Dated rooms. Pool filtration is not working (pool always looks dirty, although there is someone “cleaning” it every morning). The towel shack is almost always unattended. Service personnel at the restaurant is very slow to get anything. Food (both included & à-la-carte is poor quality. Breakfast options are limited. Coffee (breakfast) seems to be some precious resource distributed only on request in 100ml increments.
Great location, good parking, nice beach, decent WiFi

United KingdomWe didn't like the incessant loud pool music all day long. It was completely unnecessary and as our room was on ground floor overlooking the pool it spoilt time on our terrace.
The breakfast was good and plenty of variety. Our self catering apartment was a very generous size and well equipped.

JamaicaThe shower was poorly designed, and so the water kept wetting the floor outside the shower area. This made a soggy mess of the mats and I had to use towels to stop up the water. A real problem when you have to shower 3 times per day

United KingdomA few disappointing things sadly. The overall feel of the resort is that of tired and outdated, and a bit run down. The room decor was updated, and the furniture modern however. The main negatives below: NOISE This hotel is noisy, noisy noisy. Every evening they have live music 7.30-9.30 and it's not good. Each band / singer / dj was pretty terrible, from the relentless rap/hip hop dj to the 'country' singer, it's also extremely loud (woke our son up a few times) and for those rooms facing the pool, it makes relaxing in the evening breeze impossible. Similarly loud music throughout the day. Guess other guests might enjoy this but we surely didn't Staff also move carts near the pool throughout the night, and you can't sleep with the windows open. STAFF They are overall grumpy, blunt, and unfriendly with very few exceptions (sadly i didn't take the names of the nice ones, one being the kids club manager). Never a smile, and mostly you feel like they are doing you a favour. Top prize for grumpiness to the breakfast egg station lady. PLASTIC SO MUCH of it, everywhere. So much for being an eco resort, nothing eco. There is no recycling, no effort at all and so much single use plastic from straws to water bottles. Shame. KIDS CLUB / ACTIVITIES Apart from the egg hunt on Easter day, barely any of the other activities planned seem to actually happen. The kids club seemed mostly closed, so who knows. Was a reason to choose this place, yet our son never participated in anything else. TIMEKEEPING Don't rely on 'advertised times', from breakfast not always starting at 7am to the arbitrary opening times of the towel shed. Our room was not made on the first day, and following days never before 3pm, except the very last day
As Genius we had an upgrade to Kingsize suite, and it worked really well for us. It's effectively a small 1bd apartment, with a spacious and well equipped kitchen which allows us to cook meals and save some money (the island is expensive!). The kingsize bed is very comfortable, and there are two bathrooms (which we only discovered two days before leaving!). The balcony is excellent to enjoy the breeze, early morning coffee, read and relax. The beach and the bay are beautiful and it's fab to be right by it (reason to choose this hotel); the Splash Watepark was great for our 7yo son who enjoyed an hour or so there every day. The location is good as it's a 15m walk to Rodney Bay shops (there's a shuttle but we never used it). The hotel gym is small but well equipped and mostly empty so it was a good opportunity to work out a few times.

United StatesWhen booking a mini "excursion" via boat to Pigeon Island, we were approached by someone on the beach who we thought was a Bay Gardens employee. Although we were delivered by boat, the package wasn't what it was advertised to be, and we had to walk back to the property and lost some money in the transaction. Use caution, and only book through BG Motor Sports personnel. Management was sympathetic and gave us a portion of the money back, but there seems to be a wink-wink, nod-nod approach to locals selling their wares on Bay Gardens property.
Great location in Rodney Bay, great bay views toward the Caribbean Sea. Food and beverage was good, although service was quite slow at times when ordering off the menu. Staff was friendly and helpful. Water sports were amazing, and the non-motorized offerings were included if booking the all inclusive.
