How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We checked in to our room at 5:30 PM and found the balcony door open, bringing in all the humidity, and toilets were dirty as if they were not cleaned after the previous guest. I called reception and they rushed to send someone over to clean. I asked for two pairs of slippers and I was told it will be charged - it was not really my expectation from a hotel claiming to be a 4 star hotel. There was not a single coffee or tea sachet to drink - again, not expecting a fully operating coffee machine but expected more from a 4 star hotel.
The location nearby Byblos International Festival where we had a concert (walking distance)

The property cleanliness standards can be improved, example: towels cleanliness, dining tables.
The staff were exceptionally polite & helpful. Wanted to make sure we’re comfortable. Location is 5 minutes away from old souk. Good parking space in front.

The bed was not clean and we had to request to change the bedsheets.
Staff really attentive. Location exceptional. The views from the restaurant floor and the rooftop are really nice.

It is in walking distance to the beach, the Padel club, as well as Byblos itself. The view of the citidel at aunset from our room's window, r from the rooftop, is stunning! Everyone was so nice and helpful, and the breakfast was generous!

When I arrived first I asked for the Breakfast, and the Person on the reception told me there is a Breakfast buffet. Next morning to my surprise NO Buffet!! The waiter asked to bring Libanese Breakfast, I refused. Any way he tried to serve me as best he could.When I first arrived, I asked about breakfast, and the person at the reception informed me that there was a breakfast buffet. However, to my surprise, there was no buffet the next morning! The waiter offered to bring me a Lebanese breakfast, but I declined. Despite this, he tried his best to serve me.

The rooms are a bit smaller than it looks in the photos, even the beds. But the bathroom was very spacious.
The location of the hotel is perfect, close to the beach and the old city and it has a great view, especially the top floor where breakfast was served. The staff was very welcoming and helpful.

Had problem with door safety lock on our allocated room, but we were moved to a different room without hesitation on request.
Freshly prepared breakfast to choice. Did not have some basic items available when requested.. milk. Overall a good breakfast and staff very accomodating to any requests. Very good service.

We faced an issue that we booked a room with sea view and Landmark view, just to discover that the hotel doesn’t have this option or at least that was what the receptionist told us. So it’s kind of false information put on the application. I wish for the hotel to be more honest about this in the future, because all i got was a room facing buildings down the street with no view at all.
The room was clean and the people working there are friendly. The hotel was close to everything you need in Byblos.

We booked with puffit breakfast, but we were surprised with normal order breakfast. In addition to low standard facilities less than expected.

Breakfast is good. It has the basics. I would suggest additional dishes such as beans, sausages, hashbrowns, etc.
The staff is amazingly helpful and friendly. Huge smile on their faces always willing to assist. The location is convenient. The rooms are well cleaned.

Maybe paying more attention to cleanliness
