Really good location - 5minute walk to the night market and old town. Nice social atmosphere without it being a party hostel. Good restaurant that did simple food (but does stop serving at 4pm). AC in the rooms! Staff were very friendly and helpful

Building work around the pool started at 7am which you could hear and would wake you up. Pool is okay but not very clean. Apparently the 8 bed dorm rooms have been refurbished so the negatives are based on the 6 bed dorm room: - beds were very soft and a few of us all got bad back ache - the bathrooms in the dorm rooms weren’t great. Not clean, shower didn’t train away, hard to lock the door, cracks in the sink, not always warm water

Pool was green, generally quite dirty everywhere, couldn’t leave my luggage for one night even though I was collecting laundry from them the next day, food there was okay but the kitchen was closed every afternoon I was there

Can pay with card, the digital door lock is kind of cool.

    1. The pool is just awful. I don't even understand the point of it being there - the water is green, stale and not inviting. 2. The AC is weak. It was on 16 the whole night, yet it was hot in the room. 3. The room is very small and there's no place for the luggage. 4. Bed curtains are very old and see through. They don't provide privacy. 5. Can't even use the kitchen. I wanted to cut mango that I bought on the market, but was asked to leave the kitchen as it's for staff only - weird. 6. The water was barely warm.

The cafe and swimming-pool area were wonderful -really exotic! All staff was helpful and friendly. Loved the cats there and the garden and tiled buildings were beautiful. Beds were spacious and comfy and the rack, the little locker for valuables and the personal fan very handy. The bathroom was spacious too.I loved the extra showers by the pool. The WiFi was good also for working. Only minor issues that didn't really interfere. Also, lots of tours and amenities offered at the reception - tours, buses, currency exchange etc. Loved loading money to the waterproof bracelet/room key and paying with ease. Great idea!

A bathroom per room could use cleaning a bit more often. Also, the room space was too small for that many people. Everybody had their bags and smelly shoes inside, as the rack outside room A was exposed to the elements. So the room was uncomfortably smelly and chaotic. Although not expensive, the hostel was a bit pricey for the town and what it was offering. Basics such as towels had to be rented, they're waiting for you on the bed in most hostels. Also, I booked this hostel twice in order to leave my big bag there during a short trip to the north in between bookings, but I was advised not to cause it wasn't safe. A girl who had left her bag there recently couldn't find it once she was back. So I cancelled the second booking and booked another hostel, that'd be cheaper but offer more comfort.

Nice area, lots of space to chill.

Lots of rubbish and dirt behind mattress - not sure if that bit had ever been cleaned? Lots of dust set of allergies. No space to keep bags. Food they serve isn't great.

The rooms were up to date and modern. And the facilities were good. It’s a great hostel in terms of location, facilities and general vibes.

We only had a couple issues, the drain blocked in the bathroom, so had to get that fixed. But that only a small problem, the other thing being they tried to over charge me for laundry, which has happened to lots of people there. One person even got charged an extra $30 for their stay without realising. When I checked out they said I didn’t have money on my wrist band, but I hadn’t spent anything, so knew there was still money on it. So had to argue a bit to get that back. Just be extra vigilant when handing money over.

Staff were great. Fresh bed linen. I booked a bottom bed and under my bed as well as all other bottom bunk beds the floor was filthy with huge balls of dirt. The floor in my 3 day stay was not washed even after I requested it. POOR HOUSEKEEPING. At $22.00 USD per night I resented not being able to have a lounge chair beside the pool without shade. Backpacks from other hostels were using the pool for free. If some did pay I resented them staying at cheap hostels and using the pool. I moved to Sabia Sabia which was fantastic.

    A lot. See above
