Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe only thing I didn’t like was that there was no fly screen in the windows so when it cooled down, I couldn’t open the windows for fresh air because of mosquitoes. But the combination of aircon and / or fan was sufficient.
Little friendly hostel makes a very good first impression. I was greeted with a smiling face and enthusiastic Mr Lee. He provided all the information needed quickly and efficiently. The room is simply appointed but has everything listed including TV, fridge, air-conditioning, fan, PowerPoint next to the bed, a hairdryer and ensuite bathroom. The pool is absolutely beautiful and clean. Breakfast was delicious a la cart (not buffet). There are only a few rooms so it is quiet and feels boutique for a budget price. Luang Prabang is a gorgeous city with relatively wide tree lined streets and attractive architecture. The location is a short walk to the main attractions. If you are taking a tour they will pick you up so that is ok.

CanadaBathroom had a moldy smell. One lounge chair next to the pool was broken. The windows don't have screens so may let bugs in if opened.
Breakfast was fantastic, cooked to order (not buffet style) with fresh juice! Pool area is nice. The staff were incredibly friendly. We were able to rent a scooter through the hotel, very hassle free process!

United Arab EmiratesThere is only one trash can in the room and bathroom, but it's not a big issue, have one more would be better
I highly recommend this place. The owner is very friendly and can help you a lot, such as rent motorbike , call minivan, buy a cruise ticket, etc. He will call to help you communicate. The room and the yard are very clean, and the swimming pool is well maintained, suitable for adults and children. The point is that the location is also very good, and it is very quiet to sleep at night. You can see Tak Bat on the road at the door without go to the crowded tourist area. The nearby supermarkets, ATMs, and pharmacies can be reached by foot. Motorbikes are a must in Luang Prabang, so it is also convenient to go to other places.

United KingdomRoom: No Glass in the window - So couldnt have window open at all due to the Mozzies and NO natural lighting. Our room was on the ground floor so your milage may vary with the top floor rooms No light switch near bed Bathroom was quite dated, and the drain for the shower would often smell so keep the door closed. Pool: Did not look the cleanest, but seen others swim and they suvived so probs fine
Staff: Amazing and friendly Staff DO sleep in the Hallway, this does not inhibit you leaving or entering early/late but just dont be supprised Room: No Noise from other guests or surrounding place AC was good - But in some rooms, if left on over night would be noisey Water Pressure was good and hot Bed was comfy but firm Pool: Pool was quite big Plenty of space to chill around the pool with friends Backed onto breakfast area Outdoor space: Plenty enough tables to work and chill in the mornings Good enough breakfast fresh drip coffee Fresh chilled beer in the fridge for very reasonable prices Location: Immediately next to - Scooter Workshop - Local Housing Not to far from town 5-10 min walk, plenty of local shops near by (Reccomend Rabitory Cafe for a quick coffee) Facilities: Pool Beer fridge Laundry Service (would recommend) Communal toilet and washroom by the pool

FranceWindows don't have glass panes, just wooden shutters. That didn't bother me, as I put up my own moskito net. Fresh fruit with breakfast would have been nice.
Super friendly staff - in particular Julien, the French manager, who does everything to make you feel like at home, and is a great source of interesting information about LPB and Laos in general. The room was comfortable and clean, so was the bathroom. After 4 weeks in LPB, I moved here because of the swimming pool, to have a relaxing break on hot days. The pool is really good, not big, but very clean and well maintained, with umbrellas providing shade. The perfect spot to recharge your batteries in between activities in town. Good coffee for breakfast - the usual bread, butter, jam and eggs.
