This hotel certainly lives up to its name and I had a wonderful balcony room overlooking the river and mountains so could watch the hot air balloons and see the clouds change. The room was comfortable and Night receptionist Nga was so warm and helpful Thank you!

United KingdomNo lift, so if you don’t like climbing stairs, don’t book a room on the top floor (although you will then miss out on the great views over the town and mountains).
Very helpful reception staff, particularly in booking my onward rail journey to Luang Prabang and arranging to send some of my luggage by road. Whilst the facilities at the hotel are fairly basic, they still represent very good value for money. Very comfortable bed; I slept very well.

AustraliaHard beds seem to be the thing in Laos. if you aren't a hard bed person, If you remove the doona from its cover and put that under the bottom sheet that helps this is not a dislike of the Hotel as as such , Vang Vieng is a Party town and there is a large White hotel on the other side of the valley that pumps out the disco with the volume turned up to the max. If you ask for a room on. the other side you get more sleep.
the rooms themselves were were nice there is a nice view of the Kast mountains and from the outside area of the Bar on the 4th floor you get a wonderful view of the setting sun

BelgiumWhen we asked to see the room first before paying the manager react unfriendly. Being on the 3rd floor we had to carry our suitcases without any help. But there was less noise of the morning market and roosters. Pool was not so clean.
The hotel is listed on Booking with 2 different names (different prices too) Boutang Riverside Hotel and Boutang Mountain View Riverside Hotel but it is the same hotel. There is no river view. Our room had the most fantastic view on the mountains from the terrace. There was a fridge and a water cooker.Mattress softer than standards in Laos. Good breakfast with good french baguette, fruit pancakes, asian, eggs. Top location in center. Value for the price.

EstoniaBreakfast was very crowded at rush hour and they were a bit disorganized and managed to forget our order (Wich they brought promptly after asking again) and they were a little under staffed to keep refilling the plates when groups of 4-5 did a round at the buffe.
Supper friendly staff! They will organize everything and help as best they can. The guy even dropped me off to a barber shop when we had a raini day and I asked were to cut my hair. One of the friendliest staff that we had on our vacation!
