How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe staff was wonderful and gave me lots of useful information. They helped me get around town and rent a bike. The hostel was right in the centre, with gorgeous views of nearby sights and walking distance within many shops, cafes and restaurants. I loved the very spacious commons space and the bathrooms - the weren't anything fancy and could use a little update but very clean. WiFi was good and there were both fans and air-con to keep things comfy. All great value for money. I felt like a local staying there.
No complaints, especially for the price.

Verified reviewNice hostel, staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers are kinda open air which is cool. They’re building a cafe next door which will be sooo nice when it’s finished.
Walls are quite thin so you can hear noise / movement next door this also means the dorms can be a bit warm.

Verified reviewThe location was good, and it was value for money.
There are mosquitos in the shower area and definatley wore shower shoes. The rooms were clean, but on my last morning I woke up with bites on my legs. I'm not sure how I got them, and I left early in the morning to get the bus to Don Det, so I didn't really get time to figure it out and talk to the staff about it.

Verified reviewThe stay was really nice, originally booked for 1 night but then extended. Beds comfortable with curtains and plug sockets.
The first night we stayed, the female dorm bed i was given seemed to have bedbugs. They were crawling round my bed and i had 20+ bites on my legs. I told the staff who took it very seriously and took the mattress out the room along with the curtain and sheets. I slept in another bed for the next 3 nights and had no issues. I was reluctant to mention this but i just think its best to be honest. I would stay here again, dont let this put you off. Nobody else had the bedbugs it was just contained in one bed.

Verified reviewHostel had everything you need. Beds were clean and comfortable. They stopped the AC during the day but it was always good temperature. The location was also really good and close to a few really good restaurants. The staff was friendly all the time and helpful whenever you needed something.
The showers were a bit dirty and sometimes the lightswitches of the bathroom weren't working.

Verified reviewGood location, very nice staff, I changed my trip details and had to cancel my second night, they agreed to only make me pay the cancellation fee and gave me back the second night payment. They have big lockers close to the reception.
The dorm's walls were paper thin, you could hear everything people said nearby as if they were just next you so quite loud especially at night.

Verified reviewBest location, feels very clean and cozy and welcoming, comfortable beds, great AC.
The air conditioning working only inside the rooms, while in the space areas and showers and toilets it’s so hot. I came in February and it was 35 degrees. Also too bad it’s not mix dormitory rooms.

Verified reviewEverything was very clean and comfortable. There was a place to sit and read and the wifi was good. The room was for 16 people but there were only 8 of us there and we were all given bottom bunks. There were curtains and good lighting in the beds. The showers and toilets were very clean with lots of space and mirrors.
I did laundry and it came back wet. When I asked for a refund they were unwilling to give it and eventually refunded me half of the money.

Verified reviewSmall hostel in the main area next to bus stations, restaurants, and the street market. The city already is very limited on things to do and this hotel is in one of the best possible spots on my many trips here. This is a hostel shared with other guest but the guest are typically really good to be around and the lounge is nice. There is also a travel agent next door that possibly works with the hotel or owned by the same which is nice so you can get your tickets out of town and pick up is at the hostel no issues.
The beds are pretty basic at best, and past the market and the few chinese venders around the area there isn't to much to do. The expat community at this hotel is very chill, maybe overly chill were no one really talks to each other and its mind your business thing.

Verified reviewA very clean, spacious and modern hostel with very friendly staff! They were willing to give useful recommendations of places to visit that were off the typical tourist path. Location was great, bed was comfortable and had the bonus of having warm showers.
Wifi works well in the common area however doesn’t quite reach the rooms. Other than that, everything was perfect!
