Location, friendly stuff, cleanness

I was sleeping in the big room with 16 people, people were going in and going out at night like 2-3am. Being loud and talking, idk is it smth that can be fixed by hostel owners or someone else.

Good location and nice staff. The dorms without bunk beds were quiet. Clean sheets. Good common area and kitchen kept clean.

Dorm with bunk beds were very noisy after 2300.

Good location in walking distance to most things.

The staff weren’t really attentive. We arrived around 10 in the morning and had to wait 30 minutes for anyone to enter the reception and let us know where we could store our bags.

Great place and environment. Located in a big house with garden and balcony. Well organized, nicely decorated

There was a shortage of a full-time servant.They said they would have someone at the reception 24 hours a day, but when we needed them, they never showed up.There was no toilet paper in the bathrooms or toilets very late at night and in the morning.So the toilets were in very bad condition and smelled bad.Wonderlust is a great hostel to stay at if these shortcomings are addressed.In all the other hostels I've stayed in, there's always one staff member to clean a bathroom or toilets.we pay about $12 for a one-day stay.So we want complete satisfaction when we stay.I hope this will be resolved. If I come to Almaty again, I would like to stay at Wanderlust Hostel.Take it as positive. Thank u

- male dorm that i stayed is in basement: single beds, window/door to outside at 1 end, which removed need to keep going up the stairs - a converted 3 level house; handy to cross the small river and wander through the calm and pedestrian friendly paths between soviet-style apartment blocks, then down to the town centre via lots of fountains and calm spaced

-guest introduction needs to be more inclusive and standardised: wifi info, where showers/toilets are on each level, - kitchen is limited: i could hardly find any cutlery when i looked, but next day thankfully there was more; fridge crammed - outdoors spaces need some love: a bit of trimming, more shade for summer, more seat options - i won't make other points, just don't get why there are gushing reviews when for me it was fairly average

The staff came in my room at 11pm and turned the light on. The dorm was in a dark basement. The bathroom was not very clean. The front yard where they have a seating area is not taken care of.

It is a nice hostel with pleasant common spaces such as a big kitchen and dining area, nice garden, upstairs balcony. The staff was helpful and available. We could do our laundry there and the cost was very low. They also recommended us a contact person to book a really good trip.

There are better options elsewhere.

Made the mistake of coming here again. The rude unwelcoming receptionist wouldn't let me check in 45 minutes early again without paying 50% extra. Even though the room was ready. I had two nights booked. When I arrived on the evening of the second night I found they gave my bed to someone else even though i left my belongings on and around the bed. They downgraded me to a noisier, stuffier, messier, room without any apology let alone compensation. Its 4am now and I've barely slept due to the noise. Do not come here. Absolute joke of a hostel.

The girl at reception was rude and unwelcoming. Tried to charge me 50% extra if I checked in 45 minutes early. So she wouldn't let me check in even though the room was ready. Have to take your shoes off at the entrance which is fine but the floors were dirty.

Good room , quiet with plenty of space and electrical sockets. Air con. Good clean kitchen . Friendly staff . Great location

Water pressure in showers a bit weak.
