I was sleeping in the big room with 16 people, people were going in and going out at night like 2-3am. Being loud and talking, idk is it smth that can be fixed by hostel owners or someone else.

Dorm with bunk beds were very noisy after 2300.

-guest introduction needs to be more inclusive and standardised: wifi info, where showers/toilets are on each level, - kitchen is limited: i could hardly find any cutlery when i looked, but next day thankfully there was more; fridge crammed - outdoors spaces need some love: a bit of trimming, more shade for summer, more seat options - i won't make other points, just don't get why there are gushing reviews when for me it was fairly average

- male dorm that i stayed is in basement: single beds, window/door to outside at 1 end, which removed need to keep going up the stairs - a converted 3 level house; handy to cross the small river and wander through the calm and pedestrian friendly paths between soviet-style apartment blocks, then down to the town centre via lots of fountains and calm spaced

It is a nice hostel with pleasant common spaces such as a big kitchen and dining area, nice garden, upstairs balcony. The staff was helpful and available. We could do our laundry there and the cost was very low. They also recommended us a contact person to book a really good trip.

1. Feels old and can do with some maintenance. 2. I’ve been to many hostels with funky designs and feel; this wasn’t one of them.

1. I was received at 3:00 AM without a problem. 2. The price is affordable. 3. Their dorms have normal bed options that are not bunk beds. 4. They have a lovely house cat.

They providing homely atmosphere and we have a lot of freedom here to cook food and also to order food. Main attraction is its in the centre of the city. I like the stay and highly recommended !

I got there at an impossible hour after a long flight, the colleagues were very helpful and efficient with the early check in. Nice place to sit outside. Decent location

The ground floor toilet could have been cleaner at times (the second floor toilet was fine). But overall, it was manageable!

Comfortable hostel with a 24/7 reception. Stayed in the private room and it was well-maintained. There is a cute resident cat. The hostel is located near to some really good restaurants as well (such as Navat).

Somewhat cliquey with a lot of residents living there long term which can take away from the social element a bit.

Solid basics all ticked off here - good size rooms, clean showers and toilets that are several so no waiting like at other hostels. Kitchen is good albeit small if multiple users. Decent location.

The street where the hostel is located was quite busy, which made walking back and forth a bit challenging at times. The atmosphere felt more like staying in a house than a hostel, so it didn’t encourage much socializing. We stayed in a private room, which was perfectly fine, but for just a little more money, you can find better options in Almaty offering more value.

The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable. We also had access to a shared balcony, which was a nice touch. The location was ideal, with plenty of dining options nearby and a convenient bus stop to Shymbulak just a short walk away.

It's not difficult neither expensive to add some curtains between beds for more privacy, it was too damn hot and bed didn't seemed clean really...

I mean it's cheap you can't expect much, the place seem nice and the receptionist tries her best which I appreciated a lot, it was kinda quiet once midnight hit, it indeed seemed more like a student dorm with some outliers here and there...

✓ a late check-in due to the previous guests had not left timely.... ✓ it was quite dirty & messy at the entrance upon our arrival. ✓ as our room was on the same ground floor where the kitchen is, it was always too crowdy. ✓ as a kitchen & communication zones are shared with all other rooms, incl.private ones, it is very noisy almost 24/7. ✓ as the kitchen & communication zone are mingled with private rooms, the toilet on the first floor is frequently occupied, though there are extra bathrooms at different levels, incl.a basement.

✓ the hostel is PET-FRIENDLY, which was CRUCIAL for our stay. Both the doggie & the kitten were allowed, which is a rare case in Almaty. Pets are forbidden almost everywhere here. We wanted to be there right with the animals. ✓ all residents were very PET-FRIENDLY to our 🐾. One of them even gave us a gift food as the kitten didn't eat its own. ✓ there is a superb territory for the doggie to be walked out. ✓ all dwellers & both admins were very friendly, supportive & communicative, in general. ✓ it's a private house, with its own atmosphere (if you like a community-approach to life).. During a warmer season it might be much more interesting as there are a lot of outside facilitices, incl.benches, cushions, vehicles, etc.. ✓ a parking spot on-site. ✓ a sunny window side & fresh air. ✓ a nice interior of the room itself. ✓ each resident cleans after him/herself. ✓ there are games, books & the guitar for common usage and live music playing is allowed till 11pm, which was great. ✓ the location is superb (if you don't cook, couriers will deliver you ol your orders). ✓ video-observation on the whole territory.
