How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewLoved the design of the place, how conveniently it is located, beautiful view from the room, spacious room, comfy bed, great products in the bathroom, delicious breakfast.
The only aspect that put me off was the lack of assistance at the lobby entrance/exit. While carrying two suitcases, no one offered help, and I had to manage opening the doors and lifting my luggage over the doorstep on my own. At a five-star hotel, I would expect that level of service both at the start and the end of my stay.

Verified reviewThe hotel is really fascinating (like the name and the shape of it) the rooms are very big, clean, comfortable especially the bed and the bedlinen 👌 you have everything in the room: water, cafe, tea, some welcome chocolate. The breakfast is absolute superb: you can choose a'la carte from a wide range of foods and each of them are very delciousous - hard to choose. There is 3 different restaurant: we tried all of them and were very satisfied: steak, italian and asian. The spa is really good.

Beds are very soft and extremely uncomfortable, after 3 days I had backache They told me "temporarily hot water will not be available" in the end it was not available for 4 days. They didn't offer anything to make up their fault, when I approached they said "cancel your booking, we can make you a discount". They have zero interest in customer, they just don't want to receive negative comments.

Unfortunately, the outage was due to emergency maintenance on the city’s infrastructure, and it affected the entire area. We were not notified in advance and shared the information with our guests as soon as we became aware of it. We genuinely regret that the issue lasted longer than initially anticipated. We’re also sorry to hear that the bed did not meet your expectations and that it affected your comfort. No air conditioning and unbearable heat. Had to leave the hotel two days early

Generally everything was good, the check-out took a bit longer than usual hotel stays as they had to check our room which was a bit of an inconvenience.

Verified reviewIt's time to review my stay at this hotel. This is a very interesting hotel in terms of design and architecture. The hotel looks like a gothic style castle or even a cathedral from outside. I must say that staying in this hotel is an experience on its own. The hotel is not only fancy but also incredibly artistic. I'm giving this hotel 5 stars mainly because of how professional and even friendly the employees of this hotel are. I must also say that the rooms are spotless clean and there're some really nice restaurants in this hotel. The breakfast was excellent. The location was also great. Finally, I would say that the rate was a bit on the high side.
I faced some issues during my stay, which was frustrating. The temperature in the room was too hot, and there was no way to open the window. I complained about it multiple times, but they told me that there's an issue with the A/C. Unfortunately, the technicians didn't fix the issue during my stay but the front desk employees were so supportive and professional that they offered me to change my room to another room where I could open the window (at least). It partially solved the problem, but it was frustrating. I couldn't believe that a 5 stars hotel had an issue with A/C for a few days. Once again, I'm grateful to the front desk employees who managed to provide a quick solution.

Sunrise light from the curtains side was annoying ( 5 stars hotels must be perfect), especially in Astana the sunrise starts very early, for breakfast they give a menu with limited choices and first time in my life faced this issue, no open buffet as in all other hotels even in 2-3 stars hotels. I don’t advice
