How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The beds are weak metal frames so they move & squeak A LOT. Kind of hard to get into & the hostel itself is a little difficult to get up to if you have luggage.

Verified reviewOnly location was excellent in the hearh of of Hongdae, the place was a caos.
Lot of stairs to go up to the hostel, only one bathroom in.my floor for many rooms i had to go.up to last floor to go to bathroom when it was busy. Only one sofà to relax for many rooms, very caotic situation like it doesn't seem to be in a hostel, no real reception but only comumunication by booking, no breakfast at all only pack of noodle. The sheet of the bed where I think already used by otheres. Very difficult to find in a bilding with bar and restaurant in the lower floor..

well the staff were horrific to start with, the place wasnt really clean, the showerhead didnt even have a stand to put while showering. The bed was SUPER uncomfortable you could literally feel the steel underneath THROUGH the mattress. When we came in nobody even greeted us except for this other guest. In the chat they said if we needed help with our suitcases they would help us. But when I came I called them multiple times and messaged them without any response. We had to carry our suitcases all the way to the fifth floor BY OURSELVES. Staff even had the audacity to ask us to move our suitcases up to the second floor common room. When they asked the first time I ignored them and the second time they asked me again RIGHT when i was about to leave out the door. Then when I asked if they could help me with my suitcases (I had two big ones, one small one, international student) they kind of brushed it off and their very nice korean friend that was hanging out in our common room, helped me out. But since she wasnt getting paid to work I basically did it myself out of guilt. Eventually we put our suitcases in the second floor common room since the room was too small anyways so it really didnt matter except for the fact that we had to break our backs AGAIN carrying heavy suitcases up the stairs. We were two hours early at the accommodation but we were not allowed to put our stuft in the room yet, even though it was already cleaned (+ even though other travellers HAVE done so, before check-in). When i asked which room we would be in she said "upstairs but i already said you cant go in yet". Then when we came in at check-in time nobody checked us in so we just kind of went to the room and picked two random clean beds. The morning after when we came back to the room there was a stranger in my friends bed, assigned by staff. Even though she had her stuff on her bed, her stuff was moved away by staff without even as much as a note.
Hello first of all we are so sorry you felt that way about your stay We provide and explain to the guest all of the rules and informations to know to stay here We catch you with your shoes inside the house multiple time and told you to stop wearing them inside For helping out with the luggage you didn’t came to ask us help with the stairs when you arrived and we can’t garantie that we be able to help out every single guest with they luggage (my foot condition was bad at the time) My coworker asked you multiple times to put your luggage up stairs because we can’t leave the luggage of everyone in the living room (lack of space) and you didn’t listen and been rude to her so the next day when I asked you again to carry your luggage upstairs (and to paid your stay btw cause you took days to paid) and that you asked really rudely my friend who was on her lunch break to help my Korean friend kindly proposed her help and so did I and you’ve been very very rude to us (specially her!) plus I received complaints about you two from a lot of guest who were sharing your room upstairs And when you left you let your two broken suitcases here without any warning ! Verified reviewThey don't provide breakfast, but they didn’t remove it from the property advertisement. Overall staffs didn’t show any professionalism in their work. They also don't keep the air conditioner on in the living area for all the time, everytime someone need to request them to turn it on. It was super hot during my stay there, but nobody cares!

Verified reviewThe whole place is a mess, nothing like in the pictures. It’s run by a group of french speaking moody teenagers who have any idea about hospitality or backpacking culture. There’s barely any room to walk around the place as it’s filled with clothes and luggages and random furniture. Female dorm opens to the main seating area where there’s no sound insulation and there were a group of 10 french speaking people (including the people running the place) who stayed up all night and did not consider to shush until they were warned. Avoid staying here at any cost, the ratings are fake.. I’ve been backpacking over 15 years and this hostel is by the worst I ever stayed!
