Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe really enjoyed our stay at Montpelier and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Nevis. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The location is peaceful and tranquil, and the food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. We especially enjoyed the private beach, tennis court, beautiful grounds, and relaxing spa.

United KingdomThe massage was disappointing. I complained and they reduced the fee. The massage area could be nicer and an onsite therapist employed, then the variability of the quality could be managed better. The food in the Terrace Restaurant was disappointing - maybe too fussy?
The staff are lovely and everyone remembers your name and make your stay feel special. The grounds are lovely and well looked after. The breakfast was nice but they had vegan salt fish but not the real thing!

Mandy! Maddy Shelda, Abby, ….Grounds were beautiful and the staff were lovely. It has old fashioned grace and the afternoon scones and tea were tasty.

Most recommended place to stay in Nevis so we got to try it. Easy to find as they put signage everywhere. They need to do something about the Spa though, make it nicer and hire an onsite therapist. The view was nice surrounding the spa.

United KingdomThe bedrooms could do with an update with faulty lighting not rectified despite requests and a bed that is not comfortable, backache inducing and probably very old. The staff whilst friendly could benefit from some further training in international hoteliership and engagement with customers.
Location was inland away from the coast for which you need taxi or your own hire car. Taxis are plentiful and easy to order. There are also cheap buses running around the island’s roads. The hotel runs its own minibus to its own beach which has good beach facilities. Food at the hotel was good with beach bbqs in the itinerary. There is a thoughtful touch of an amuse bouche with one’s pre dinner drinks. The afternoon tea with scones is also a thoughtful and welcome addition. The owner is often seen around the estate and is very engaging with clients. The pool is large and supplied with plentiful loungers.

United KingdomLoved it all.
Lovely extensive well kept kept open grounds with gentle sloping hill towards the sea which provides great sunset view point. The pool and bar area were beautiful and calm with background music and a compliment from Kaddy. A very interesting and different property with friendly staff that made you feel very welcome and special. The private beach area a short drive away from the property was also special.

United KingdomWonderful in so many ways … the rooms are lovely, large and comfortable… the views from mine were spectacular. Nevis is a lush, tropical ‘ paradise’ … the use of different areas for drinks, dinner and breakfast means you feel each place ‘ special’ … there are numerous comfortable seating areas and the local monkey troop adds a humour element. Above all , though, are the staff who, without exception are charming and welcoming .

United StatesThe location was gorgeous. Nevis has dramatic landscape with beautiful beaches and a large dormant volcano in the center. The water was glorious. The grounds and buildings of Montpelier Plantation Inn were lovely; the room was very comfortable and had all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The pool was large, deep and perfect for relaxing or for swimming some laps. The continental breakfast was delicious with many food options. The staff were very helpful and so efficient at arranging transportation and guides if needed for excursions.

United KingdomRestaurant menu could have rotated more than it did and truly local cuisine should be included more. There could have been another shuttle bus to/from the beach earlier and later.
Breakfast was excellent in an open airy location. The main restaurant was in a great location too. Pool and bar areas also top notch. The gardens were exquisite with so much birdlife to spot. Room and bed were nice size with top quality linens. The beach was fantastic and very quiet.

United KingdomWould take orders for the lunch beach in the morning at breakfast to limit wastage and make it at least a 5 day/week event Would have casava/plantain crisps and fruit salad (+/- rum) available at the bar on the beach on a daily basis
The history of the place, the way the staff made everyone feel at home from the second we arrived, the attention to details, the breakfasts, the lunches on the beach (great idea) and the dinners, the cocktails with a caribbean kick, Halva's hot sauce, the way nothing was too much to ask for (did feel a bit spoilt), the almost empty beach each day with warm calm waters and above all, the one that keeps it all together, the hostess with the mostest, running like clockwork and making everyone from lord to pauper feel like they matter.
