How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe setting is beautiful and the beach is very quiet and remote. The room was comfortable and spacious and the outdoor seating area was lovely. The part of the beach that Sleeping Trees is on is particularly lovely and access to the sea is great. There are lots of hammocks under the shade of trees for lazing around and passing the time.
The walk to the beach is quite tricky towards the end and this should be more clear. While I was there it was not possible to get a taxi boat as the sea was too rough, so that could be a real issue for some and this is not entirely clear. It is a strenuous walk! Sadly, while I was there, there was a constant battle to clear the beach of plastic washed onto the shore. It was quite depressing to see. I don't know if this is a constant problem or due to sea conditions. WiFi was very patchy. Whilst this was actually quite good as it me switch off more, it is not mentioned in the description. Food and drinks all along the beach are quite pricy.

Verified reviewBeautiful beach, special experience waking up and having the sea a few footsteps away from tent. Comfy tents on the whole. Food at the restaurant is good.

Verified reviewWe stayed at Sleeping Trees on Sunset Beach, Koh Rong Sanloem, and absolutely loved it! Originally we planned to stay just one night, but ended up staying three—and we’re so glad we did. This place is incredibly peaceful and beautiful, the perfect spot to unwind and disconnect. Getting there is part of the adventure: you hike for about half an hour through the jungle, and arriving at Sleeping Trees feels like a true reward after the trek. The beach, the atmosphere—it’s all worth it. The owner is super friendly and flexible, which made us feel right at home. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the whole place has a really relaxed, welcoming vibe. We enjoyed some delicious food during our stay—especially the fresh pizza baked in their clay oven. It’s amazing what they can do in such a remote setting! Plus, the price includes lots of thoughtful extras like free water refills and free use of snorkeling gear, which made exploring the beach even more fun. Every evening we were treated to absolutely stunning sunsets right from the beach. We highly recommend staying multiple nights to fully soak up the tranquility and magic of this place. A true hidden gem!

Verified reviewThe beach is beautiful. It was very quiet which is exactly what we wanted. On the beach the it felt airy and pleasant. The staff were polite and helpful. The activities nearby are great - bioluminescent plankton was an exceptional experience.
The bungalows are set slightly back (can still see the beach) and there it is still, humid and airless and with only a small solar battery fan it is not comfortable to sleep. Cleaning and decor is a bit tired. Quite a lot of plastic rubbish washed up on the beach. Prices for food etc on the island are a lot higher than elsewhere. Mosquitoes and cockroaches are about.

Verified reviewAmazing beachside location. Great food at the restaurant. Slightly higher prices but that's expected at a tourist spot on an island. Free water refill station was much appreciated
Rooms were quite hot, even at night

Verified reviewThe Sleeping Trees is the perfect option if you want to relax, book the tent if you want your own little private beach. We loved the food, the pizza and the barbeque nights, and the crepes! The terrace, the bungalows, everything looks very good and staff is very friendly and helpful!

Verified reviewThe most amazing location on sunset beach! So happy we found this place. We stayed in one of the teepees right by the sea and it was incredible waking up to those views.
Nothing! Just bring ear plugs if you have a teepee right on the front!

Verified reviewFantastic location!! Very affordable for the experience and lovely staff.
Hot bunk bed rooms even with portable fans, would be great to have some more mosquito proofing in the rooms (the mesh above the door was fully caved in on our room so all bugs got in) - sadly we were bitten to death even with the net

Verified reviewTrue paradise on earth. Couldn’t ask for a more peaceful and relaxing location and facilities. The staff always available to help but totally hands off and really allow you to feel at home. Food was really good, little more expensive than the mainland but for the location very understandable and absolutely good value for the price. The water is beautiful and the snorkeling off the north and south and of the beach is wonderful (especially the north end).
Nothing

Verified reviewSleeping Tree is an excellent place on sunset beach, the tents right next on the beach are gorgeous. the matress in the tent was impeccable, the tent itself ample. It is maybe the best place on the whole beach, the area is spacious, rather quiet and with a nice covered restaurant, a pool table and clean, hot showers.
we were not too excited about the french staff, which did their job more like a duty than a pleasure. We also found that other food options on the beach were better.

Verified reviewSunset beach is amazingly beautiful! We probably didn't get lucky with moskito nets in the dormitories then the spare tent filled with holes. Staff could be a little bit more engaging even if you don't spent extra money.

Verified reviewActual Paraside, rooms are basic but it’s expected with the location. The guys are all so friendly and the food is fantastic with good portion sizes at the going island price. 35 min walk to get here but it’s not that difficult if you wear actual shoes.

Verified reviewCame here for a night because I wanted to go climbing at the beach. I would like to give a good review but this would only attract more of you travelers. So out of fear that this absolutely non-magical place (sarcasm) would become overrun, I will refrain from commenting.
I think if you really have to come, you should inform yourself on how to get there.... Surefootedness and good shoes are required. I actually liked the hike, just figured it would fit here better.

Verified reviewThe location is a paradise. The staff were wonderful and there are a number of activities to occupy yourself with.
Getting there is a steep hike through the jungle but that's okay as the location is worth it. I encourage you to leave big bags at Sunny Bungalows which the staff at Sleeping Trees suggested as well. We had to take cold showers but again, in the island lifestyle this was also okay for me.

Verified reviewWe had the most amazing time here - the location is magical. We stayed in a tipi tent which had the most epic sea view. The communal outdoor spaces (pool table, etc) was everything we needed and everyone was so lovely! The food was great (especially the BBQ and Pizza nights) Honestly, we were sad to be leaving!

Verified reviewThe location Our comfortable tent was ON the most beautiful beach of the island, only steps away from the ocean. Well maintained place, the staff has eye for detail. Lots of trees (shades). Very easy going and kind staff. Excellent food!
Food/drinks a bit pricey for Cambodian standards (but not for European ones) and don't forget, it is an island, so everything has to be hand-carried in from the mainland, so prices overall fair.
