Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New Zealand6 nights in this lovely Guesthouse: Pro: - super clean: by that, I am saying everything is spotless. The room is cleaned daily and to be honest it seems like they changed bed sheet daily too. INCREDIBLE CLEAN - great breakfast : eggs different ways or pancakes - coffee, teas or smoothie all serviced with daily fresh fruits. Once again well presented and clean - great help: assisting with bookings, scooter rental for only $7 a day directly from the Guesthouse. Laundry $1 per kilo, ready on your door the next day - great location: close to the main area but is a quite spot - amazing team looking after, run by a family. Very lovely and helpful Negative: Nothing to do with the Guesthouse itself. The bloody trumpet at 5am from the nearest military base it is incredible annoying. It goes on for 30 min. I feel bad as this can bother many guests and turn them away. But the place it is so lovely and deserves to be booked every day for the amazing effort they put. Thanks for having us 😀

AustraliaThis isn't just a hotel; it's a home away from home in Kampot. The Seagull, truly a hidden pearl, shines brightest because of its incredible staff. Their welcoming, warm, and smiling energy is infectious, making you feel like you're staying with family. They're also incredibly professional, ensuring every need is met. The stunning building and decor create a beautiful ambiance, complemented by the crisp, fresh linen and a comfortable, big bed that promises a great night's sleep. Waking up is a joy, especially with the awesome hot shower and the promise of a great breakfast – seriously, try the omelette! Plus, the reliable aircon and WiFi are much appreciated. Convenience is key here. The Seagull boasts a handy tour desk and is just a five-minute walk from the vibrant riverfront promenade, where you'll find the lively night and seafood markets, diverse quality restaurants, the serene Lotus Pond, the dazzling Seahorse fountain and light show, and unique floating restaurants. Beyond the hotel, I discovered the incredibly friendly community of Krong Kampot 💙. For anyone visiting Kampot, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. ✨👍😊

United KingdomSmall note: bring some earplugs. The property next door to the guesthouse owns roosters/cockerels that like to make noise at 5am!
The owners of Seagull Guesthouse were so accommodating! We weren't feeling well during our stay and wanted to order food, but we couldn't do it with our mobile numbers. One of the ladies let us use her mobile number so we could order a takeaway, so thank you! We were also able to extend our stay at short notice to make up for the time we lost. The location is pretty good, down a quiet street and a 10-minute walk to most of the restaurants near the river. Breakfast at the property was also good!

EstoniaAn excellent place to stay when you are in Kampot (a nice area!). The property is clean with friendly staff and all the basic amenities that you would expect. The shower has excellent pressure, the towels smell nice and the bed sheets are silky smooth. As an added bonus, a lovely, little breakfast was served. Moreover, I arrived well before the check-in time, but I was welcomed with open arms. I can highly recommend this property for both short- and long-term stays if you happen to be in the area.

CanadaWe have zero complaints about this place. Would come back here any time.
The staff were friendly and helpful. After two weeks here they were starting to feel like family. 💕 Rooms were large and clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast was delicious every morning. The location was perfect for us. Close enough to the supermarket, waterfront and restaurants but far enough away that it wasn't busy or loud.

Everything we had a really wonderful stay in this immaculate guest house run by the nicest people. I don't usually gush in reviews, but this, one takes the biscuit in the words of Mary Poppins " practically perfect in every way." The rooms are spacious, clean, fresh, and well kept. All the staff are delightful, and I have no hesitation in recommending it for your stay in Kampot. It's also excellent value for money. Thank you for making our stay top notch 🙏
