How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe room was large.
I was taking a nap and woke up to find the owner peering in the glass sliding doors. She wanted my passport because when I checked in the day before it was pouring rain and there is no reception. Then instead of taking a picture of my passport she ran off with it. I had to track her down and ask for it back. When I got it back my paper customs card (I made a land crossing into Cambodia) was gone. There are also tons of dusk/dawn mosquitos.
It was because you slept too long from 6 pm to 3:30 am that we came to see you in front of our room, afraid that you were sick or had health problems. I also asked for your passport to take, photograph and copy it for the data file. I did not see the paper you mentioned. When I chatted with you, I asked you to find it again. You did not answer us.

Verified reviewWe had a fantastic stay at Sambath Saksek bungalows. The location is quiet and peaceful as it is in the jungle and set back slightly from the main row of shops and restaurants. It only takes a couple of minutes to walk down to the Main Street and it is just a 5 minute walk from the boat jetty when you arrive on the island. The bungalow was very clean, spacious and we found the beds very comfortable.

Verified reviewThe only thing I liked was the owner, he was very sweet, but putting bungalos in any jungle in this Parr of the world is asking for trouble!!!!!
If you like mosquitoes you will love this place. It's in the jungle, it's dark, it's damp!!!!
it seems like we let him stay on the ground and in the middle of the jungle that nobody there.

Verified reviewGreat location out of the way of the main beach strip but still only 5 minute walk away from bars/restaurants Bungalows were nice with few fans and mosquito nets. Comfy beds and everything you’d need. Staff were really friendly & very helpful. You are able to rent mopeds, and we were provided with mosquito coils when we were sat outside in evening. Provided with new towels during our stay Great value for the price thanks for having us :)
For other travellers be warned lots of monsquito as to be expected in the forest - bring spray! We also had a few friends visit the cabin but all part of the fun🦎

Verified reviewThe bungalow was spacious and nice, the host did his best to help us to have good time
The Bungalows are in the forest and you can feel and hear it all the time. It means that there are a lot of mosquitos (although the host tried to give us candle against them). Also at night there are fruits falling from the trees on the roof of the bungalow which is kind of scary in the middle of the night. And the wifi is very bad

Verified reviewThe staff was incredibly kind and helpful; they were always willing to assist us with anything we needed. The scooter rental was very affordable, which made exploring the area easy. The location is great, just a short distance from the village. It truly felt like a real bungalow experience – you get your own little house with a hammock and a veranda
There wasn’t much wrong with the bungalow itself, but what really bothered us was the number of mosquitoes and some geckos. Since it’s a bungalow, they can easily get inside, which means lots of mosquitoes in the room and occasionally a small gecko dropping on the floor. Of course, this isn’t really the hotel’s fault, but it did affect our stay. They provide mosquito nets for every bed and incense, but even with the nets, we still got bitten a lot. If this is something you dont find bothering than this stay is perfect for you :)
