The lady on the reception made it possible for us to check in already at 7 am. A life safer! Thank you! Everything about the hotel and room was great for the price we payed. Had everything we needed and more. Only thing I missed is a thicker blanket (there‘s just a thin cotton sheet), but this may come down to personal preference.

Not that I imagine there was much to do at night, but I was surprised to find when I went down late to head out and look for a late-night shop with beverages, and just to see the town at night, that the front door was locked. I have been in hotels with curfews before, and they always mention that during check-in. I suppose (though don't know for sure) that the night staff was sleeping in a back room somewhere. I didn't really feel like fussing about to look, and there was no bell/phone number, but at least the hotel had a fridge with paid drinks, so I took one or two, left some money and a note behind the desk, and returned upstairs, as there was really nothing else that I could do.

Location was great. The staff were friendly, and explained the differences between room types that was poorly explained on this website, so I was able to upgrade to a much better room on the spot for only $3; no problem at all. Space in the room was fine, so was the toilet/shower, and the ceiling fan is always a great bonus. Wi-Fi was good.

Air conditioner stopped working after a day

Staff are beyond amazing and helpful! Only had a short stay and they organised our day trip around Battambang and we couldn’t be happier with our day. The room was spacious and clean and perfect for our group.

Some modernization is welcome. By example the bathrooms. And it would be nice if the restaurant returned on the rooftop.

Royal is a very nice family hotel. We were there for the seventh time. A very warm welcome we got. We got special cake and we talked a lot with them. They arrange transport and trips for You in a nice way. A warm bath and they have a nice jacuzzi on the top floor! Great hotel

My room was pretty run down. Sheets and towels were old and tired.

Nice owner and friendly receptionist. Free pick up was very kind. Very good location close to market and restaurants. Motorbike rental. AC worked but I didn't use it as the ceiling fan is my preference and was efficient. Really nice coffee shop opposite.

The staff were soo friendly and helpful! The room was perfect for the price we paid, had a basic room with fan which was what we needed big size and clean. The staff arranged a day trip to see Battambang with the tour guide called Sam who was excellent! Highly recommended if you want to explore and learn about local culture. They also helped us with booking onward coaches and to see the circus. Really great staff 💓

We are older and found the stairs tiring, the balcony was not useable due to the dust, the receptionist did suggest a back room would be quieter and less dusty, I should have listened

Very welcoming staff, very helpful and felt safe the whole time. We booked a tour (with Mr Soon) through the hotel and it was amazing he collected us and dropped us back to our accommodation. We were able to get a bus to Phnom Penh through the hotel which collected us there.location was handy, walking distance to market, 7/11 and pub street. So accommodating when we had to book an extra night. Nice coffee shop across the road
