Everything was amazing at Retro Kampot Guesthouse. The location is great, the room was perfectly clean, very cosy and comfortable. Monica was the absolute best host! She made us try traditional khmer food we could use the kayak on the river and rent scooters. It was the best part of our trip.

Absolutely everything! Monika and her family are just amazingly kind and welcoming, the whole place is incredible, food was delicious for a fair price and the free kayaking was a welcomed plus. The vibe is really chilled and the nature out there is lush and vibrant. It is hands down the best place I've stayed in Cambodia and really felt like a home away from home. I miss it already.

Although a bit far from the city is exactly at the best place of kampot. On the green Loop! It was awesome the kayak. The hosts are super nice and always trying to help. The food is awesome try the amok.

The beds were a little hard

The bungalows are right on the river, which is lovely. The bungalows are basic but clean, and Monika, the owner, is maybe the most loveliest person we have ever met. All the staff were so accommodating.

We loved everything.

My friend & I stayed here for two nights as, after a month traveling, we wanted some peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle. That is what we got too. We stayed in our own 2 person hut with a little balcony that had comfortable seats and a hammock, ideal for relaxing; almost read my entire book! We went kayaking one day, following the Green Cathedral trail. The kayaks were provided free of charge by the accommodation. They brought us fresh fruit and cold water every time we appeared in the common area which was equally as colorful. Their hospitality was wholesome, welcoming and extremely helpful, especially when we needed to organize transport to our next destination. I cannot fault this place. I would strongly recommend a stay.

I liked everything

Location by the river is beautiful, it’s quiet and tranquil and very homely. The river front family bungalow is an absolute gem, I booked it as a solo traveler and had the most relaxing private stay. The food and staff are all fantastic too. Kayaking was a highlight. And the taxi driver Ree gave a wonderful day tour to the pepper farms and other attractions. I highly recommend staying here and booking the taxi service with Ree via the guest house.

Lovely quiet retro guesthouse. Great food and breakfasts. Cold beers. Good prices. About 7.5 km from Kampot. Pass tuk tuk charge 9,700 one way. Free kayaks. If ur looking for a quiet, great value place to stay with great food, this is it!!

It’s a little outside the city, but that is perfect if you want to find some peace and quiet. Not a lot of solo travelers, but that can be expected

By far the best stay in 2 months of traveling. The bungalow is very clean and everything smell great! Even the mosquito net has an incredible smell! The place is quiet and relaxing, perfect for chilling or working. The food they cook is amazing and very very fresh. But the best thing is Monica and her team and family! They are incredibly kind and ready to help, their welcome was amazing, offering us fresh fruit and water as soon as we arrived. Talking to Monica and getting to know her a bit has been such an inspiration for us. And they offer free water refill, which is very rare! Everything was great and I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for quiet and coziness. Other positive notes: they have motorbikes to rent and they offer free kayak tour in the amazingly beautiful green cathedral. Don’t miss it!

Beautiful location right on the water and at the green cathedral loop but away from the city centre. The bungalows are super cute and comfy with lots of seating options on the porch. The staff are so so sweet and helpful and the food is amazing! We wish we could have stayed longer

I really cannot fault this place EXCEPT(!!) the room we had, had an A/C and it was quite dirty ... It didn't smell bad thankfully but that's really the only thing I would say.

Wow, first I'd like to say that this place is really my kind of place. It's extremely comfortable and relaxing. The big open restaurant/common area is the best part of this guesthouse. It's lovely to eat there but also feels comfortable to read a book or chat with a friend. The staff are so lovely, so attentive, they always brought us all a glass of water and some fresh homegrown mango to snack on. The food was really tasty and well priced. We rented a bungalow which was amazing. My parents, who were a little out of their comfort zone with this guesthouse, adored the bungalow and slept and felt amazing with fans and other amenities. Our room was upstairs where we had acces to a lovely airy balcony for chilling or reading a book. We also took advantage of the free kayaking which takes you along the little river beside the guesthouse. this was a fun experience although we only did it for a short while . The staff were really lovely 😍 they gave us lots of mangoes and a pineapple from their garden to take home.

I highly recommend staying at Retro Kampot Guesthouse for anyone visiting Kampot. The rooms are very comfortable and well decorated and the common areas are amazing. Most of all, the staff is very nice and caring, offering excellent fruits at every occasion. The location is great (around 1.5$ tuktuk ride from the center) and offers a variety of options such as free kayak to see the mangrove. We loved our stay!

We had the most wonderful stay at Retro Kampot Guesthouse. When we relaxed in the common area we were constantly gifted bowls of fresh fruit and cold water. We did our laundry here, and it came back very clean. We also rented a motorbike for a day ($6) and ate here multiple times. The room itself was clean and comfortable with great airconditioning and a nice private terrace. We shared a bathroom with one other room, this was no issue at all. The location of the Homestay is nice and quiet, about a 10-15 minute drive from Kampot centre, which we thought was great. You definitely won’t find a place this nice anywhere else!

Very few complaints to be had. Perhaps just that the rooms could use brighter lighting, and didnt have a mini-fridge. Also the mirror wasn't placed on the sink, but outside the bathroom itself, which was a little odd.

The old school styled rooms are spotless, and decorated with great taste. It also smelled super nice, and had a great AC (I was in an apartment with private toilet room). The team was amazing. Kind, sweet, welcoming. Honestly, amazing crew.

The best place we stayed during our trip to Cambodia. The place is fantastic, near the river. The rooms are wonderful, clean and give you an overall chill and natural vibe. The common area is very nice to chill and have food, a coffee, read a book or play a game. Morning breakfast by the river will be the most unforgettable memory from Cambodia! The food in the restaurant was really amazing, with many complementary fruit salads with our morning coffee. Wonderful people and especially Monika,who was always keen to help us and give us any kind information and help. Definitely choose this place for your stay if you are in Kampot. If not, just pay a visit for an afternoon coffee or a dinner!

The kayak from the property is lovely, however there is a lot of rubbish.

The hosts and staff are fantastic, we were looked after like guests in there home. The food in the restaurant is delicious and the communal area is really nice to relax in.

Would highly recommend Retro Kampot Guesthouse for anyone looking to visit Kampot. Great location - about 10 minute drive into town centre & grabs readily available; right on the river which was amazing for free kayaking opportunities from the guesthouse. The food in restaurant is amazing, we ate on several occasions and everything was delicious. After our first night we actually extended our stay because the vibes were great - really nice chill out area there too. The staff went above and beyond and were so lovely. One of our party fell ill and we can’t thank Monika and her team enough for their kindness. Thankyou again for having us - excellent value for money.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. The kayaks were also included, so you can do a tour on the kampot River on your own which is very nice and relaxing, sadly a looot of rubbish everywhere in the river. The Bungalow itself was quite comfortable with some decoration like old pictures on the wall, it had 2 vans in the inside and one outside on the little terrace - perfectly placed opposite of the hammock where you can have a fresh fruit salad or a beer. The service was also very good, they brought us every evening some free snacks like fruit salad or cashews to the Bungalow. They do take care about their guests. The bed was okay to sleep in and the bathroom has everything you need, a shower, a toilet and a bum 🔫. Nothing luxurious but absolutely fine. All over a great place with very friendly owners and staff.

Lovely relaxing stay at this place, bed was comfortable and shower was good, communal area was chilled and loved the hammocks. The food was absolutely delicious and I recommend the chicken lok lak to anyone 👌 free kayaks are a nice touch and the host got us a scooter for very reasonable price. Staff here are friendly and so helpful. Thank you for making our stay an enjoyable one!
