How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We tried very hard but couldn't find anything we didn't like!
We liked Kampot & this particular guest house that my wife & I came back for a second visit!! Everything here is good: quiet, clean, good value for money, helpful staff. Highly recommended!

There was nothing that we didn't like!
Clean, tidy and inspiring room, near to shops, restaurants and places of interest. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent facilities, including unlimited drinking water and free bananas! Fantastic value for money!

Really liked this guesthouse. One of our favourites in Cambodia. Really clean, bright & spacious room. Kettle in the room is a must for me so I was very happy. The guesthouse have free bananas you can snack on during the day. There is a nice pool table. The breakfast looked really nice but we did not try it as they had ran out of croissants. So get down early. The staff were helpful & arranged a motorbike rental for us. Good location too.

It is a fabulous place to stay. They've thought of so many of the little things, while being environmentally friendly too. Great location - we walked from the bus with packs. Fantastic restaurant recommendations, especially Bampong. And the breakfast is incredible, the best croissant since Europe !!! We'd definitely stay again.

Lestee and Eugene and Bella are wonderful hosts, made me feel incredibly welcome, and they do their bit to look after the environment. The breakfasts were delicious, laundry service was fantastic. The location is an easy walk to town, the room had air con and a fan, everything one could possibly need.

Really nice owner’s, clean and spacious room with powerful shower and hot water! There was also a pool table which was a plus! Had breakfast here on our last day and it was delicious and a massive portion with really good coffee!!!

We enjoyed our stay here. It was a great deal. The owners/staff were incredibly helpful. Helped with finding restaurants, booking a tour, travel information. The breakfast is good. Espresso, too 🙂. Free drinking water provided. AC works well. Walking distance to town center.

Spacious and clean room with stunning bathroom tiles - worth staying just for that.. Hosts kindly helped organise onward travel and day tour. Great to have unlimited filtered water available.

Great location and super friendly staff/owners. Liked the hang out area out front, easy to chat to people. Room big and clean with AC. Excellent value for money. Could stay here for longer, the staff help organise tours and recommend restaurants.

FREE DRINKING WATER AND BANANAS! Seriously, that's a total lifesaver since finding free water in Cambodia can be tough. The place itself was super charming and comfy, but what really made it stand out was the staff. Like, seriously, they were amazing. So friendly, always smiling, and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. They even helped me out big time when I had a moment of crisis getting my visa extension figured out, and let me extend my stay until everything was finalized. The whole team there really made my trip to Kampot special.
