How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. I don’t know where to start… first of all, they forgot about us, so we had to wait 2 hours in rain until somebody pick us up. Then we arrive through crazy jungle messy road and we meet young arrogant guy on the reception. He didn’t even say sorry that they forget about us… so we did check in. After check in, this guy told us that he has to cancel our last night, because they are closing their hostel. I was like that’s not my problem, I booked it from 27.06 to 01.07. and I want to sleep their in these dates. But he arrogantly said that we were supposed to check their Instagram and TikTok, because it was written there…. Dude, we searched it on booking, nobody said anything their closure, they didn’t even have courage to text or inform you about anything… so we left immediately, didn’t spend a night there, but with lot of experiences - PLEASE DONT STAY HERE AND DONT SUPPORT THEIR AMATEUR STUPID BUSINESS

Verified reviewWould not recommend: cold water, bad WiFi even at reception, dirty dorm and toilets/showers, the towel I got smelled already when I got it, and on top of that some of the staff were really rude!! I was shocked actually at how I’ve been treated. The only reason anyone would go there is for the nestival but you can just buy a ticket and stay somewhere else.

Hostel is grim. Rooms and toilets were extremely dirty. Couldn’t shower. Idk how to describe it but the water stank of metal, very strong. Never felt comfortable

Verified reviewThe Nest beach itself is the quietest on the island (if not for the bar behind it) and it’s in the middle of the 2 piers, give or take. The air con worked almost too well
The staff were the rudest people I’ve ever met. Travellers working behind the bar, rude people at reception who struggled to meet our requests (new towels/latte.) we had travelled by night bus (as most people do) and were feeling very jaded. Staff are most likely aware of this but did nothing to make us feel comfortable, didn’t show us round the property (2 seperate entrances) or give us WiFi/tell us anything about the island. This is definitely a party hostel and the staff only care if you’re spending money behind their bar. Noise continues until 6am and restarts at 8, I will admit I didn’t look into this but regardless of that it was slightly excessive. The room was not as advertised, shower leaked all over our room a sort of milky white liquid, and floorboards had clearly been haphazardly replaced to fix this. Entrance to the room felt dangerous, and there was little security. I think if you’re looking for something peaceful to relax on what is a beautiful island, don’t stay here.
Hello Elizabeth, we are glad you enjoyed our beach. We advertise that we are a party hostel, maybe better research was needed when booking your accommodation. Most people don't come on the night bus and there's no way of us knowing this? We have several hummocks and bean bags on the beach if you needed to rest before check in. We are a hostel, not a resort that shows every guest around the premises as most backpackers want to get a beer and sit on the beach when they arrive. There are several signs with the wifi password and If you wanted to know more about the island, you can just ask. Regarding the 'noise', looking at the days that you were checked in, the only party we had while you were here was Jungle Party which ends at 3am. Our bar opens at 8am where we have time appropriate music and wouldn't be loud. Maybe you were hearing from another bar or hostel up the hill? If you had told us about the shower, we would have sorted it out but now that we know, we will look into this. Security - we have numerous cameras around our hostel and you had a key to your door. The island is also generally very safe. But thank you - Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Verified reviewIdeal that you get a free ticket to nestival. You’re able to enjoy yourself but then crash straight into bed. Also the food is amazing. Big shout out to the staff also, Tommy was great hosting nestival and took to the time to make sure we understood how the day worked. Queen size beds in the rooms are also a bonus. Overall lovely hostel on a beautiful beach where you can party and relax.
The rooms were quite sandy but that is expected when staying on a beach.
