Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

One of my favourite hotels on this trip and comfortably the best I stayed in Cambodia. A great chilled out vibe, could have stayed for months, in fact some people do. The upstairs bar does themed nights and the social atmosphere is great. Very friendly staff and an almost faultless hostel.

United KingdomFor me the music in the bar was a touch loud in the evening but it didn’t go on late (and I am an older backpacker!).
Good hostel in a good location for town and river activities. Staff are welcoming and helpful and the rooftop bar has good food and nice vibe. Big room.

RussiaBetter to have a bike to explore the city and areas around, but that's applicable to Kampot in general
Great place, really easy to meet people at the bar and the pool! The dorms were clean, nice and we were equipped with a per dorm toilet shower :)

AustraliaThis is a tricky one to review as I stayed in 3 different accomodation options here and two were great, while one was terrible. 4 bed dorms in the main building and private rooms are lovely and comfortable, but the 5 bed shipping containers are awful (worst hostel experience I had over 4 months in Asia). Staff however are great and the upstairs restaurant is also a good space for socialising.

United KingdomReally cool hostel with a hippy vibe. The pool area has a bar with some proper chilled music playing from midday onwards. Staff were super friendly and plenty of themed food nights and live music upstairs on the roof terrace. Would 100% come back for another few nights stay

United KingdomI did think that the pool was pretty small - not enough room to exercise in (which was a significant reason why I booked here)

United KingdomThe water in the shower was fairly cool, but given the temperature outside this wasn't a problem for us. Those who like red hot showers may find it a bit cold. This is a very small bit of feedback rather than a criticism as this place is genuinely amazing :)
We had a fantastic stay at Karma Traders - it is by far and away our favourite place we have stayed whilst travelling throughout SE Asia over the past 3 months. The hostel has gone to SO much effort to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. The welcome when you arrive was so genuine, it's clear the staff here are well looked after and enjoy working there. The foyer is full of awesome information about the local area, places to eat and drink (they are not just trying to suggest you eat and drink there). We stayed in a private room which was huge. The beds are a little hard, but that's par for the course in SE Asia we have found. There is a lovely pool area always playing nice tunes. The best part of the hostel though is the rooftop area. They also pay amazing tunes up there and serve really delicious food and drinks. Prices are incredibly reasonable and there is loads of local and Western options. They also have a taco night on Tuesday which we really enjoyed - they had an Australian band playing that evening, some very interesting tribal Aboriginal sounds. Super! We could easily have stayed longer at this hotel. We met some nice guys also staying there, and we got to know some staff members and the owner well in three days. Do yourself a favour and book here. It's a fab place, and Kampot in general is also fantastic.

New ZealandBed was a little lumpy and a bit uncomfortable.
We had a private room with own bathroom in one of the villas. The pool and bar/restaurant on roof top was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. The day trips organised through hostel are great - we did countryside tour with caves, pepper farm + visit to Kep ( ate fresh seafood at crab market! Delicious). Meals were great at hostel and reasonable prices. All ages were seen at this hostel. Thank you.
