Our stay at the Golden Beach Resort on Koh Rong Island exceeded all expectations! The design of the hotel is simply stunning, with attention to detail creating an incredible atmosphere. The spacious rooms with panoramic windows, along with cozy bathrobes, slippers, and a beach bag, made our stay even more comfortable. The staff was very attentive and always ready to help. The breakfasts were delicious and varied. On the beach, we enjoyed the complimentary kayak & paddle board, adding to the fun of our stay. This hotel left us with unforgettable impressions, and we highly recommend it to everyone!

The housekeeping in the rooms was very basic. Sweep the floor, make the bed and change towels. The sink area in our bathroom wasn’t cleaned during our whole 10 night stay. Strange, as the public areas were so well maintained. An area for improvement.

Excellent public areas. Pools were clean and well maintained. They made a big effort keeping the hotel’s beach area in good condition. Daily beach sweeping and cleaning. The beach and sea conditions are probably the best I’ve experienced in south east Asia. Rooms are simple but functional. The beds are big and comfortable. No tv’s in the rooms - great! Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was ok, but not as good as the neighbouring White Sand Ark which was excellent.

Our room happened to be next to the housekeeping entrance so could be quite noisy very early in the morning. There is also some considerable construction happening in and around the hotel which again is very noisy all day from 7am. Although we do understand this is necessary for progress, it definitely disrupted the peace.

Great location on the beach. The staff were delightful. Our room was a poolside family villa which was large and very comfortable beds.

I would say the cleaning is average. The team are not the best / well trained and it’s a simple wipe around. That said it’s not really an issue for me, you are on the beach, there is sand everywhere anyway. The fridge didn’t work in the room, but the bar gave us ice if we wanted a cold drink. My biggest wish would be more variety on the menu, if you are staying for 5 days it’s boring. I can imagine that the western menu is good for kids. There is one good restaurant at the property next door and the rest in the small village are very basic. More of a lounging bar area would really elevate the communal spaces.

The beach is just wonderful and the sunbeds, terraces and vibe of the place is relaxed. The staff are very kind and the managers are great at their jobs. Waiting staff are very friendly. WiFi is good around the property and on the beach. Lots of options to take paddle boards or book scooters, surfing and trips.

Koh Rong was an effort to get to, Golden Beach Resort made it well worth the trek. However being the "off" season it was certainly quiet. Would suggest encouraging some guest to guest interaction... Board game nights during the rainy season would be a great addition given there is little to no nightlife. Also, we hired a motorbike, but lots of the roads haven't been finished and made for some unexpected (unsafe) adventures.

A diamond in the rough - thankful for our choice to stay at Golden Beach Resort. We purposely booked knowing we werent planning to go anywhere else. Food was terrific, staff super approachable and helpful, bed was actually soft and comfy, (SE Asia tends to be the opposite!), plenty of activities both free and at a cost and reasonably priced. Also loved the animal regulars! Will miss our new four legged friends!

The property is located in a more quiet area of the island and is perfect for a getaway for relaxation. They also have the sweetest and most helpful employees. The rooms were nicer than we expected and so was the beach area. They had our favourite buffet breakfast we’ve had. Definitely recommend going to this resort as we will be back too!

The surrounding village was very quiet. There was construction taking place around the resort, but it didn't take place in the morning.

The staff very friendly and accommodating, especially Jool and Dara and the driver. The atmosphere was very relaxed. There was a good variety for breakfast, both hot and cold food. It is right on the beach and the pool area is nice.

Loved everything.

Relaxed vibe. Right on the wonderful white sand beach. We had a two bed apartment with jacuzzi. Really lovely to relax in the hot tub at the end of the day. Pools were great too. Helpful staff, they organised our dive trip for us. Great breakfast buffet and tasty food both for lunch and dinner. The highlight was the location, paradise on the white sand beach and turquoise sea.

I probably would not have stayed more than the 5 days due to not having a great deal more to being an Island. Walking anywhere was limited, so either hire mopeds or rent a driver to see the island ( 1 day ) However if your just wanting to get away from it all and do ' nothing's it's the perfect place.

Absolutely a magical place to stay, water was so warm and the beach in front of resort was kept clean daily. Breakfasts Inc on our stay and was 5 star. We had lunches and dinner there too ( even though many other places to choose) and the meals were fantastic. You could hire mopeds, kayaks, paddle boats to keep busy on the water.

Beautiful location right on the best beach on the island . They look after the beach very well and rake it daily to minimise sandflies which are a nightmare further down the beach . The surfing/wave machine is fab too . Make sure you have a go . Happy hour there is great too.

“Didn’t like” feels a bit unfair to say but I think the cleaners could have done a better job, the room felt rushed through and not the standard we received in other resorts in Cambodia. To be clear though the rooms were NOT unclean at all, this hotel is lovely but improving the effort the cleaners put in would make it phenomenal.

Lovely hotel and amenities, the ability to hire a bike is a great feature. The fitness centre whilst small is perfectly equipped and good for those wanting an active holiday. Food throughout was excellent, we ate almost exclusively here because the food was so good. The hotel also offers free activities for guests which is a lovely touch, we participated in the hike which was thoroughly enjoyable.

Everything was perfect. Paradise on the island. Beautiful, clean, endless white beach. Luxurious hotel but very peaceful and private. Great breakfast with many choices. Delicious food in the hotel restaurant. Great location close to local shops and restaurants in the village. Walking distance to the pier but the hotel manages a pick up service. Great activities for guests like snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, spa. Perfect hotel service. Always helpful, smiling.
