How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

She tries very hard to keep the beach clean which isn't easy, I hope tourists can take part in it, at least by being wise with their own rubbish! Especially glass considering all the kids playing barefoot around the place!

Verified reviewThe bed was comfortable, there was hot water, the air-conditioning worked efficiently, chairs and a little table were provided to sit outside. The staff and owner were lovely. The location of this property is amazing sitting on a little beach with a jetty and shaded hot, you can walk, a very long way at low tide as the water is very shallow. The area is quiet, but the whole fishing village has a lot of resident chickens so expect a dawn chorus, be a reasonably quiet one. The villages has a resident otter and if you’re really lucky, you’ll meet it. It will come bounding up to you like a puppy it’s very tame, but I still wouldn’t trust those teeth and claws. We arrived in the hydrofoil from kampot but left from this tiny fishing village on their supply boat to and from the mainland
There was some confusion regarding the pre-ordered pick up from the ferry. The room really could do with more surfaces a shelf in the bathroom or over the sink would be really helpful. The lighting in the room was not sufficient to apply make up (not that you ever do that on holiday), Or shaving.

Verified reviewLocation was very nice next to a small sandy beach, restaurants/ bars nearby. A really nice fishing community . A scooter is a must and the roads are very quiet.
No toiletries as was advertised , lightbulb in the windowless bathroom needed a new bulb. Mentioned this 2 days before we departed but no joy.

Bikes are expensive to rent compared to elsewhere but there is no where else to rent one from near the property so the price is reflective of that ($12.50 a day) The restaurant at the property is no longer open which was a shame

Verified reviewThe staff was amazing and very helpful. The bedding and the room in general were clean. We ate at the restaurant which was right next to the Guesthouse several times. The Guesthouse also offer moped rental. It’s only a TukTuk tour away from The Beautiful beach «Lonely Beach»
There were quite a few insects in the room. The Guesthouse is away from most things so you need either a moped or a Tuktuk to Get around.

Verified reviewThe staff was super helpful, and let us pick which room is better for us. They kindly reminded us of paying at the end of the trip. The room came with two towels, so it was nice to have clean ones when you go back to the room. The AC was a life saver! The shower had the option for hot water. I liked that there were local shops close by. I would stay here again, because even if it is far, it was fun getting to know the island roads.
We rented a moto, and it takes about 30 mins to get there from the main town in the south part of the island. It's close to lonely beach, but lonely beach is hard to get to by moto. Lots of sandy roads towards the end.

Verified reviewHidden gem! Rooms are super clean with comfortable bed. Owner and his family are the most friendly, kind and helpful people. We had a wonderful stay with them, they made our time in the village memorable and fun! Food in the restaurant was really good 😊 We booked a room for few days but ended staying for a week. Verified reviewThe guesthouse has running water, flush and air conditioning. It is a luxury in this location. The host had turned the AC on and kept the room ready. I checked in late at night and had a good night's rest.
