Aizada and Jalil Are amazing hosts, very welcoming, easy communication on what’s app and good information about activities and trips in the surrounding mountains. Clean, good breakfast. Would highly recommend staying and would stay again if we come back to Karakol!!

Snow Leopard Hostel is a simple yet very welcoming place, with everything you need to feel comfortable. The lady running it was incredibly kind: we had to rush out for a tour and she even helped us by hanging up all our laundry to dry. Such a thoughtful gesture that really made the difference. The rooms and common areas are clean, the location is convenient, and the overall atmosphere feels warm and homely. A great base for exploring Karakol and the surroundings.

It’s not in the city centre, but great for a start of your hike. Yandex also works fine in Karakol.

Great value for money hostel! The owners are passionate about hospitality and making sure their guests are happy. They managed to book a private yurt for us in a valley 15 km away, only one day in advance, while everything was sold out online! People with a good heart and good connections, you see and feel it. Don’t expect a 5 star hotel, it’s a very value for money hostel. You can leave bags for a few days when hiking in the area, free of charge. Tea for free all day. Can even use the kitchen. Great atmosphere

Our stay at the snow leopard was wonderful. The rooms were very clean and the owners of the hostel helped us preparing for the wonderful trekking in the area. They speak very good english and the atmosphere is very nice. Would definitely recommend!

No curtain between bed. No privacy. The dorm is a bit dark. No lobby, but lounge where owner's kids play.

The owner is very helpful. He and his wife are friendly and welcoming. You can book trip from the owner. The location is good. Easy to call taxi.

It could not have been better

Amazing hosts, very friendly and assisting with travel plans and tours. Good breakfast, free tea, spacious dorm, good kitchen facilitys and super clean! Adel the horse guide is a fantastic addition to the crew, very knowledgable and fun to talk to. I hope to see the 2 daughters of the host someday competing in ski racing on tv - keep your passion and ambition up! I would definitly stay here again, anytime.

Jalil and Aizada are amazing hosts and super helpful. The facilities are very good and clean including a nice communal area. Jalil provides a lot of helpful information how you can do day hikes by yourself. I had an amazing time at the Snow Leopard Hostel and can highly recommend it!

Quite a walk to the city center (about 25 min) but a bus to the centre passes the hostel every couple of minutes.

Not in the center of town but I don’t mind a 20-min walk so it was great. Otherwise taxis are extremely cheap and easily available.

Very helpful owners - I asked for a lift from the Kazakhstan border and the owner instead picked me up from Kegen in Kazakhstan. They speak English, Russian and a bit of Spanish. There’s a choice of beds in hostel-type rooms or individual rooms with private bathrooms. Home-cooked food available to order for a small fee.

Just the creaking of the bed because of the wooden floor. Otherwise i always have peaceful sleep.

The hostel is a little out of the 'centre' of town but easily accessed by local mashrutkas if you don't fancy the walk.

Excellent hostel, with clean and comfortable dorms and a large lounge area to relax in. There is also a very nice kitchen if needed. The hostel is run by a friendly family, who speak good English, are knowledgeable about the local area and always willing to help. An added bonus is there is a well-equipped sauna available on request.

Wow, our experience was absolutely amazing! Jelly and his wife exceeded all our expectations by catering to our spontaneous requests, such as organizing exhilarating horseback rides in Karakol National Park and arranging a 6 am cab to take us to the Ala Kul base camp. I highly urge everyone to visit this place for its exceptional hospitality, cozy atmosphere, and their youngest daughter, Elena, who is not only a joy to be around but also an outstanding guide and travel advisor.

The staff are absolutely lovely and so welcoming. It's nice to have some happy children running around. The kitchen was great and there's a nice big dining area downstairs as well. The place is extremely clean. And the beds are comfortable. There is a supermarket a 2 minute walk away.

We spent three nights and couldn't have been happier. The hosts are very nice, and the kids are very polite and sweet. Very friendly & family atmosphere. Everything was clean and very well maintained. Very good prices, delicious breakfast. The hostel has a very good location too, we were able to reach supermarkets or restaurants by foot. We will definitely come back to stay here if we're back in Karakol!
