The hostel was nice & clean.Beds were ok to sleep in.Quickmart was at a walkable distance.

Breakfast was a bummer and also the location had no signs of the hostel outside. Had a hard time locating it.

    Serene, clean and peaceful.

    1. The net connectivity was erratic. 2. I stayed here for a night and was picked up early morning the next day by my safari tour people by 0700 hrs. I requested the owner/caretaker if any packed breakfast or any other thing could be done since the time for breakfast starts at 0800 hrs and o would already be on my way towards masai by then, to which he couldn’t help much, neither was much bothered by it. 3. But people are positive, a little away from the main road (approx 30 mtrs) and is connected by kuccha track. 4. Personally, Nairobi nomads is a better pick than this. I stayed with them once got back from safari. A fellow traveller recommended me the change.

    It has a bed

The location isn’t the best, communication with staff is lacking and accommodation requests get ignored

Very lovely little house with the upper floor having dorms and bathroom and the lower floor with communal spaces and kitchen. The staff is looking well after you and they are knowledgeable about where to go. Special thanks to Fred for helping out with my itinerary 😊

Very clean and nice - everything as described.

Not the most social hostel for solo travellers (at least not when I stayed)

The hostel is fantastic, it is a big house with kitchen, living room, dinner room, you can easily feel home. Fred, the one in charge of the place is great, he was super helpful! Comfy double bed in the dorm!!

    I liked everything.

The hostel arranged an airport transfer, which was great to get to the hostel. The beds were comfortable with a mosquito net. A towel was included in the hostel price. There are lockers under the bed. There are plenty of books to choose from on the shelves. The living room area is very comfortable. I enjoyed sitting in the garden. The kitchen is clean to cook in. There is luggage storage for early checkin/check out. I enjoyed my stay.

The driver was very friendly and suggested interesting places in Nairobi. The hostel is located not far from a good Indian restaurant and a supermarket.

The room was dirty with hair on the floor. There was supposed to be breakfast available (which previously got good reviews) but all we got was instant coffee sachets, hot water, and two slices of water melon. The water boiler was constantly humming very loudly, which was very annoying during the night.

    Property response:

Dear Gnaegi, We regret that your stay was not up to your expectations. The rooms are cleaned everyday and it is most likely the hair on the floor was accidentally missed or shed after the cleaning was done. We apologize for that. As for breakfast, we do provided much more than you indicate and if for some reason you did not find the spread, our onsite manager is always ready and willing to accommodate any requests. We are much more than a cheap and ok place. As almost 100% of other guests can attest to; providing a homey, comfy, and safe environment. Best regards, TLH

    the place was clean

I arrived to this hostel after a 15hr bus ride from Uganda. I booked a private room days ahead. I arrived and they told me they had double booked. Instead, they only had dorm beds available. (I was promised a refund of the difference. I still haven't received it) I took it because I was so tired. Went for a shower and the water stopped midway with shampoo in my head. Turned out all the water throughout the house had stopped. by this time, you cannot find a manager on site. I had to insist the security guard call the boss because we didn't have water. Hours had gone by both the water and the manager appeared.

    Property response:

Dear Gladys, I would like to sincerely apologise again for the mix up in your booking on Saturday and understand your frustration also with the situation with the water; this happens every once in a while in Nairobi because of water rationing. I would like to assure you that we will not charge your credit card from our and the night you stayed is gratis. We hope that we will have a chance to rectify your thoughts on our space. If anything comes up with the payment please let us know and we will follow it up with Booking.com. We wish you a wonderful trip. Warm regards, Library Hostel

Very safe. Hostel is location in a safe area of Nairobi with schools and embassys.. They have the front gate locked all the time and there is someone there 24 hrs a day including a night guard. Large very noice room and common areas, helpful staff.. Supermarket about 500m away. Crafty camelon brewery garden bar with music on sundays about 2.5km away (220 KES in uber) very nice. This hostel is a good safe base in Nairobi.

I had a single room. There was a foyer that lead to my room and the communal downstairs toilet. The door to the room had a glass pan between the door frame and ceiling, so that every time someone went to the toilet at nighttime light would shine into my room and wake me up. Half way through my stay I removed the foyer light bulb, replacing it when I left and providing the suggestion they put a piece of card over the glass (since the room was light and airy enough. There is a skyscraper getting built across the road, so construction noise from 7am to 6pm. Although this didn't affect my stay.
