Remoteness. The property is lovely and well appointed set in beautiful grounds. The only negative for me is that it js located a fair distance down an unmade road which adds 15-20 minutes on the journey when you’re trying to get a taxi to an alternative restaurant / bar / nightclub.

Nice grounds / gardens. Comfortable spacious villa. Aircon on lounge and bedroom. Nice big swimming pool. Direct access to the beach. Good food.

It was a bit difficult to get boda/tuktuk from the location as it is at the south end of Galu beach. The food menu did not change while we were there but what they offered was VERY GOOD!

Quiet! The villa was spacious and comfortable with aircon in both the bedroom and living area. Appreciated the daily bread with fruit and eggs - the passion fruit was lovely! Loved the music and vibe by the lounge/pool area. Staff were attentive and helpful.

The staff were so kind and helpful. The villa was cleaned on time and the job the cleaning lady did was really good. Also, the location may be a bit far from the main road, but it's totally worth it. I loved the fact that it was so quiet. And also how refreshed I felt after staying here. The scenery is also very beautiful and green and refreshing to be around. If you need privacy and a safe place to be, Sonrisa is that place for you

Very friendly and hospitable staff, clean rooms and facilities, amazing views of the ocean, serene and private. Antonia (host) was always on hand to assist in case of any issues and easily reachable and went out of her way to make sure we had a pleasant stay. Small extra touches such as daily change of flowers in the rooms, new fruits placed in the fridge every day was so thoughtful and much appreciated. The food was always freshly made and the candlelit night dinner by the pool was so romantic and enjoyable.

Unfortunately this side of Diani Beach is fool with sea weed. You need to walk for around 10 minutes to get to nicer (more white sand and less sea weed) part of Diani. Nevertheless, walking on the beach was not a problem. We enjoyed it as well.

The Hippos Brown Lounge is great place to have a snack or a drink. We used it few time and enjoyed the food, attention and atmosphere.

Sonrisa is a gem of a place in Diani. It is further down south on Gala beach and has a beatiful garden, massive pool and private access to the beach and all the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The beach right at the hotel is not the best for swimming because of some rocks but all you need to do is walk a few minutes up the beach. We stayed in the 1-bedroom villa and the kitchen was well equipped and some basics were provided in the fridge. There is a small bistro with a selection of meals available, but one day a week the chef is not available. There are plenty of food options a short walk away on the beach.

There is absolutely nothing to complain about.

We loved the quietness and the privacy we had on the compound, the swimming-pool, the food, the view at the ocean, the lovely and cosy interior design of our villa and the amazingly friendly staff. We will definitely come back one day!

We had a delightful stay at the Sonrisa. The villas are very convenient and furnished with great taste, the garden is marvelous and the staff is dedicated to make your stay as confortable as possible. The location is a bit far from the nearest shopping center but it’s ideal for a peaceful and relaxing time.

No more days of holidays to spend there. The beach may have seaweeds because of the flow, but it’s nature.

Everything was perfect. We felt spoiled and the staff was so caring and nice. Antonia is very helpful and always smiling. The fact that there are only 3 rooms make you feel at home. The room is spacious, well kept and always clean. The kitchen is open from 1030 to 1930 so you can have something to eat anytime you feel like. The food is delicious. The 3 dogs are the entertainment of the place. So funny, loving and very well educated. Sometime you also see monkeys on the trees. If you need to book a tuktuk, I suggest to have it reserved 30 minutes ahead. The lodge is not very close to Diani center and the road is “challenging”, but that is also what make it quiet and special. Definitely recommend if you want to relax. The massages are a plus!

Absolutely nothing. The road outside is very bumpy, but definitely worth it. My husband’s face literally lite up when we pulled into beautiful Sonrisa.

A piece of paradise! We loved everything. The beautiful spacious chalet, with a clean stylish finish. All the mod cons & equipped with a full kitchen. Fresh eggs, homegrown fruit, milk, yogurt & homemade bread was topped up everyday. The staff were very friendly. All areas were spotlessly clean, very comfortable & and beautiful view from the bar/lounge/restaurant across the pool onto the sea. The property was located at the end of the beach, which was quiet & an easy walk up the beach to other hotels & cafes & a sand strip out into the sea, if you fancied more company. Otherwise it’s the most relaxing, quiet tranquil place I have stayed out. Highly recommended places to stay away from the hustle & bustle! We had a massage at the resort, ahh it was wonderful & a very, very good price. We loved it so much, the other guests staying booked straight away. This place only has 3 chalets, which is prefect. Also an option for a family group or friends.

It’s an amazing place to stay. There is nothing not to like there!

We spent 10 days at Sonrisa and I wish we could stay for longer! Antonia makes you feel very welcome, the place has everything you need and you genuinely feel very welcome. 3 golden retrievers are a nice bonus if you like dogs like me (they will leave you alone if you show no interest in dogs). There are plenty of food options - you can have it at the villa, walk to a few places by the beach or take a tuk tuk to the centre of the town. It’s a beautiful place which is great to relax and unwind. We will def be back.

If you are looking for a slice of paradise that offers peace quiet and 100% relaxation, Sonrisa is the place to go. The accommodation is modern, clean, and has all the comfort you require. The garden, bar, large swimming pool, and small private beach are simply lovely. The beachfront view is stunning. Everyone on the premises is so kind, from Antonia being an amazing welcome at the reception, to Iwona, who is the warmest host, Sonrisa feels like coming home. The food options are a bit limited, but the quality is of a great standard. The frozen Banoffee pie is highly recommended. There are 4 dogs on the premises, and they are very well trained. If you have interest in dogs, they will come for a cuddle. If dogs are not your thing, they will leave you alone. We enjoyed our time greatly!

It was the best vacation my girlfriend and I had, decorated the room with beautiful rosé flowers for her birthday and the breakfast was lovely. Looking forward to visit again truly a hidden gem.
