Not exactly soundproof. Woke up extreamely early because of the anoying sound of a constant flow of suitcases beeing rolled on concrete floor. Had to drive to anorher hotell for lunch

Amazing location, amazing staff in the restaurant. Stunning view and a lot of animals roaming around! A fantastic day with a ranger.

Super friendly staff that went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. All the staff were amazing with special mention to Cornelius who helped at check in and with all our queries over our stay, Rose, Sylvia and Josiah in the restaurant who made sure we wanted for nothing, Philemon and Sammy who were our rangers that took us on game drives and Joseph, Julius, Paul and a lovely lady whose name I can’t spell, made our nature walk most enjoyable. Our room was clean and comfortable with a fabulous view of the water hole and from which we saw many animals. Great water pressure in the shower. The pool at Taita Hills is enormous and has an incredible view over the sanctuary. They were very kind to give us a gift on our last day to thank us for our stay - unexpected and very appreciated.

I had Salt Lick for a long time on my bucket list and it exceeded my expectations. What a stunning location in the middle of Tsavo West. Views are breathtaking, and possibility to observe wildlife right from the lodge is unique. They have many staff with warm heart for their guests, manifesting true warm Kenyan hospitality. Elsie the restaurant hostess was very kind and professional, welcoming us in a personal way every time. We did our game drives with Martin who was excellent, very punctual and ensuring we got the best photos. All staff at the restaurant servicing the buffet area are very friendly and hardworking. Victor at the reception was fast and attentive when I needed assistance while not feeling well. The team also made my birthday truly special, with a happy song, delicious cake and a nicely decorated room. I am very grateful and we will come back soon.

All meals are buffet style. Although they have many options that are tasty, the resort is so packed, you should go as early as possible to avoid overcrowding while getting food. You also have to travel to the sister resort for lunch.

The water hole view from the room was definitely the highlight. Was able to see zebras in the morning and elephants at night. Also some monkeys and antelope during the day. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Special shout out to Naomi who checked on me during my stay after I told her I wasn't feeling well upon arrival.

    Nothing

I stayed at half a dozen safari lodges, this was the best all around. Great, professional service. They arranged evening and morning game drives that were excellent and very reasonably priced. The buffet was the most extensive of any lodge I stayed at. Something for everyone.

The food was a bit boring (we stayed for 3 nights so maybe that’s why) and the quality was fine (but not great). We had our own driver but otherwise it’s a headache to go to the other hotel for lunch

You don’t have to go on a safari drive - you can just chill and the animals come to you. We all loved the underground tunnel that leads you close to the watering hole which gives you (and your pictures) a unique angle. But most of all we loved the staff, especially the dinning room staff. Everyone was so friendly and nice - and they told us they are genuinely happy because the management allows them to freely interact with the visitors. It does add magic (and authenticity).
