Food quality could be improved. The charge for the lunch is unusually expensive

The rooms and pool were amazing, but the staff were the best part of our stay. The restaurant staff did a great job at making sure we were attended to during meals and Johnson the manager was very attentive and flexible, which worked perfectly for us.

Great staff, close to gate for Massai Mara, good value conservancy

It was suffering from water ingress through the outside of the property whilst we stayed, but they were working on repairing the road access as we stayed. I'd have expected it to have been resolved by the time this review is published.

    Staff was very friendly

Check in and out process was an absolute disaster, also, they changed me to another room in the middle of my stay; packing up my things without my approval and changing rooms just like that. At the end of the stay, they wanted me to pay more!

    Property response:

Dear Jaime, thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are delighted to hear that you found our staff to be friendly. You checked- in past 10pm and our staff patiently waited and served dinner, and escorted you to the room with no issues but we are sorry to hear that we didn’t meet your expectations. Most of our rooms are in the category of Superiors with a few similarly upgraded to Deluxe Cottages which you had booked, and with late check-in somehow communication didn’t flow to Reception to immediately conduct room move to match your booking. The following day you were out on an excursion whole day and apparently all Superior rooms had been booked with a different group and our team knowing you were anticipating and aware of a room move they went on to transfer your luggage, we apologize for moving your luggage’s perhaps it could have been handled better You had booked a Deluxe Cottage for two nights and we ended up charging only for the services provided and we are glad it was amicable resolved that you were not going to pay anything extra. We have taken note of raised concerns and we will endeavor providing our best quality service as we look forward to hosting you next time

The Staff is very friendly. We got a very warm welcome and booked a game drive to the Park. The driver was very nice and we had a wonderful day. It is only a few minutes to the entrance of the Masai Mara. The pool is nice with a wonderful view.

The shower and bathroom are very big but the shower was not really good working. Poor water pressure. There is no wardrobe or clothes rail to store things. No possibility to hang up the towels after showering.

    There was nothing special.

Unfortunately Maasai Mara is a kind of super tourist place and the prices are sky rocking. That destroys the value of that place.

I brought a group of 14 people to the camp…. And it was so phenomenal! The food was amazing, the beds were comfortable, the pool with view was breathtaking and the staff was so friendly

The showers were not always working properly.

Property is well placed, not much away from the gate. Tents are well spread and maintained. They have a well maintained garden - worth a time spent from the availability stay.

They seem to have some challenges in their restaurant because we didn’t find much varieties in cuisine. For Vegetarians, please try to avoid non-veg items. We were served beef, saying it’s a dish made up of lamb. That’s actually the worst part of it for Hindus who don’t eat beef.

The camp is located in very beautiful surroundings. The staff is so friendly and the sundowner session by the pool every day was so cozy! Felt very safe at the camp, and it was very close to the national park

Pleasantly surprised with the tent, had running hot water and comfortable bed, for such great value! We watched the Milky Way galaxy in the dark and had great sunsets from the pool. Sadly both of us were unwell, but what we did taste of the food on offer was delicious. All staff are very helpful. The game drives through the Mara were also great and a once in a lifetime experience.

On the game drives, we had a couple of issues with our guide. There was alot of pressure to visit the Masaai village and at no point were we told about entrance fees and other purchases we’d be encouraged to buy. It felt like it was a bit of money making scheme. We absolutely wanted to support the local community but the way in which it was done made us feel uncomfortable. The other issue was at the park gate on our last day where there seemed to be a bit of confusion as to who we were paying our park fee to. Note, if you’re flying in and out of the Mara, you must have receipts for your park fees for all days your there as they will be checked by the rangers as you’re waiting to depart.

The food was always lovely and the chefs even went out of their way to carter for dietary requirements. Felix is just an amazing host in the restaurant and Nelson was around and swift to help whenever needed.

The front of office wasn't well equipped with information about the Camps operations and the Manager wasn't very helpful when needed.

The food was not well prepared and the staff were not clean. You will eat there only because you are hungry and there is no access to food outside the camp.

The owner and his son were taking videos and pictures of the guests without their permissions, and when they were notified that this is not professional they laughed and said it is for advertisement. It was very uncomfortable to be followed by a camera all the time

    Property response:

Hello Peter , We had expected your negative review after you threatened to portray our Hotel poorly. You must be honest with yourself and reveal the main reason why you are angry at us. You recently visited our property and engaged two safari guides from a neighboring village to show you around ( not our employees ). You then severally invited them to our restaurant where you instructed our waiters to serve meals to them. When our staff issued you with a bill for the extra meals you have ordered, you ‘ went through the roof ‘ ,angry for being charged for an extra service your friends received on your request ! You claimed that you have been told that the extra lunch for your friends was free. For heaven's sake, where in the world do you travel to hotels to get free lunches ? The food served in our hotel is of high quality and the standards of cleanliness of our staff are above reproach, quite the opposite of what you are claiming. As you try to spoil our hotel to bring it down, you spare no frivolous accusation to complain about photography done at the Hotel. By the way, a hotel is public property and both guests and staff are free to take photos of any events at any time ! How do you think a hotel shares its images for marketing and communication purposes if not through photography and videography? When you chose our property for your stay, didn't you go through the internet and looked at the pictures? Are those pictures not involving other guests and events around the hotel? When did it become a crime for the owner of a property or its staff to take pictures of their own space and place? Why didn't you also complain about the CCTV cameras which are also monitoring all the public spaces of the hotel? Is that not photography too? People visit properties and places on holiday to take photos to share with others and to remember. You claim that you couldn't recommend our hotel to your enemy due to a claim of bad food and service. What made you then stay for 4 nights without demanding a refund and consequently changing hotels if ours was not meeting your expectations? You stayed on because everything was OK with our property ,and the only reason why you decided to malign our name is because you did not want to pay for meals you ordered for your friends who were not residing with us ! How so strange !
