The location, the staff, the clean rooms. You really feel like you are in the park, even though you are actually just outside it.

Very aggressive and rude admin lady, I think she is the owner, who was arguing over the exchange rate given by Google with me. You have to pay 4% bank fee if paying by card. Would suggest pay via MPSEA or bank transfer

    Property response:

Dear Robert, Thank you for your kind review. We apologize If the lady was very aggressive, we will look into it. Kindly note, you were given options of bank transfer and given both the Kenya shilling and usd account with the exchange rate provided by the administration. You had a choice of not paying with the card as it attracted transaction charges same as bank transfers or mpesa that the client pays for the transaction fees. Google exchange rate on a Saturday evening is not accurate, accurate rates are provided by treasury. we are glad you enjoyed your stay, looking forward to hosting you again. Thank you and kind regards!

Although not actually in Tsavo West, the camp is only 20 minutes from the Park Gate and in a wonderful position overlooking the Galana River. Views from the luxury tents are also great. There is game in the area so if you are lucky you dont even need to go into the Park. Our guide Gaji was excellent, very informative and a very good driver on the 10 hour round trip in the south of the park. Food and catering also excellent.

    Nothing.

The staff were extremely welcoming and attentive. The rooms were beautiful and clean and well kept during our stay. Food was nice but the highlight was pool area which was amazing!

The beds were a bit hard for my liking but that was about it!

    Property response:

Thank you for your kind review, Jack. Looking forward to hosting you again!

Beautiful location, rooms (Only 3 from 18 finished) are nice but have design errors, pool is nice, staff are very pleasant, the space for dinner by the pool is lovely.

You must walk through the wet room to get to the toilet!, There is no choice of food, the breakfast buffet is the worst we have ever had, Wardrobe not long enough to hang things, Nowhere for suitcases, The place is not finished and construction is ongoing - should be discounted not premium, owners arrived but not interested in greeting guests, no umbrellas, no tea and coffee making facilities, no mosquito nets despite insect infestation, nowhere to hang hand towels, plastic drain pipe supporting shower head detracts form good finishing, pillows hard, bed hard, furniture in public areas tired and cheap.

The view of the river made for the ability to watch for many bird species and the occasional hippopotamus and water buck. But it is not a place to visit for anything other than bird life. Particularly as East Tsavo NP is also very dry and currently only shows a great number of dead animal carcasses. The lack of rains is very much in evidence here

The location is extremely difficult to get to, requiring either paying the extortionate amount of cash to use the East Tsavo tracks (very unpleasant and rough even in a 4x4 truck) or, involving an extra four hours driving via Mombasa and Malindi (we drove from Nairobi). It is also a location which is very dusty with a lot of wind. Most egregious was the extortionate additional costs added for drinks which were initially presented as part of the service (no price list given). But particularly the rudeness of a single member of waiting staff. He not only stank, and would have benefited from a bath, but also made derogatory comments about the size and weight of my sister.

We enjoyed the fantastic location, the food, the nicely designed tents, the terrace and pool overlooking the river with hippos, crocodiles, gazelles, elephants and plenty of birds, including the king fisher… Most of all though we appreciated the super welcoming team of kudu camp who made our two night stay a great beginning of our three weeks trip through Kenya! We wish we would have had more time to stay around.. asanteni sana!!

    Property response:

Thank you so much. We appreciate you and you are always welcome
