How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe camp is in a very good location and the rooms are perfectly surrounded by trees to give a natural vibe. The rooms were very spacious and with excellent staff who were there for any help round the clock. The Talek river view restaurant had a perfect river view and the food was amazing and they made sure we get the food pack for the days when we went for game drive Overall me and my family thoroughly enjoyed the stay and will come back whenever we plan our next safari (In sha Allah).
The staff'were too friendly and went out of the way and showed excellent hospitality which I didn't like at all 😂

Verified reviewI booked PrideInn myself, which is not a typical move at Masai Mara (usually a tour provider would sort everything out for you for a hefty fee), so I was prepared for things to be a little patchy. Instead, PrideInn defied my expectations at every turn, and ensured that everything was as smooth and seamless for me and my group. Service is outstanding, from the frontperson (Edison and Sylvia), the restaurant staff (Ambani and Dominic) to the guards, the cleaning personnel, waiters, chefs and bartenders. No one spared a smile or a kind gesture and were committed to meet us in our needs and special requirements. Rooms (whether tents or cottages) were exceedingly comfortable and well equipped — proper mattresses, thick blankets, clean towels, toileteries offered, plenty of power outlets, sufficient lighting, hot water (actually hot) running without an issue. Common areas strategically located by the Talek river are a delight. Food was plentiful and delicious. Something for every taste. I am vegan and never found myself wanting; chef was there to answer my questions on ingredients and special dietary requests were met within minutes. Ambani took care of organizing for us a packed breakfast for our esrly morning game drive, making sure that every box was marked with name and packed with the specific things we had selected the night before. For a person with high standards is such a joy to leave an accommodation without a qualm or complaint, only with the certainty that I will come back.

Verified reviewA wonderful lodge situated right on the Talek riverfront with direct access to the Masai Mara National Park. The rooms were clean, the atmosphere was the perfect blend of relaxed but professional, and the staff were wonderful. Huge shout out to Brenda who made us so comfortable - from coffees at 5am before a game drive to rustling up pack lunches. She was fantastic!

Food is kind of bad and repetitive. After confirming 3 times the appointment of massages they managed to delay it 30 minutes without informing. When time came, 2 minutes before they also changed it for 1 hour after for 2130pm that made no sense. Kept pushing for us to leave the room several times at 10 am when checkout clearly says from 1200.

The USB ports on the wall sockets were not working so we had to drive to Talek town to buy the head so we'd charge our phones.

Verified reviewPlace is really nice and staff were super accommodating! One of the staff had a small accident with some of our beers, but we were compensated instantly and staff did all they could to make it up for it! It was my boyfriend's birthday and the staff were so sweet to upgrade our room to one the cottages overlooking the river. Generally staff was super friendly and smiley. Special shoutout to Millie and Joseph for making our stay extra comfortable! Food was pretty good and were always able to find something decent as vegetarians. The hotel is also right next to a foot bridge, where you can just walk over and start your safari straight away, very hassle free :) we even saw a cheetah on our way back close to the hotel!
While it was nice to have someone playing music sometimes during lunch and dinner, it did feel a bit repetitive with the same person performing or every single meal - more variety or sometimes just relaxing background music would be appreciated (we could also hear it from our cabin). In terms of privacy the curtains were quite transparent and with staff and safari guides often hanging out on the bridge during the day and we felt a bit watched.
